Pippen won't be happy until jalen goes 40/40 for 500 yards and 6 TDs.

We must also have 0 rush yards.

Early indications that reinforcements are on their way for GB

BG will be on the active roster, Nolan Smith sounds like he'll have a chance to be back and also Jakorian Bennett

Bennett in particular is interesting, i think the Eagles will be sniffing around the CB trade market but if they dont land one i think he's the best player when healthy to be CB2
(Ringo has better good the last two weeks mind you)

It's going to be real interesting two weeks.

GB is really going to test the offence, especially in that atmosphere. On the other hand, Detroit are going to show us exactly where this defence is at.

I would be more than happy with 1-1 in the stretch. Rest of the schedule thereafter is

@DAL
CHI
@LAC
LVR
@WAS
@BUF
WAS

Buffalo at Christmas time is going to be a very tough out but other than that, it isn't too bad, especially with Washington falling off from last year.

I think we go 12-5

Bye week so yeah i was looking at this earlier today too, mostly because i was interested to see if i could find a way logically to get one of the other NFC E teams to win the div and it's tough!

Being very generous:
i can get the Cowboys to 9 or 10 wins
I can get the Commies to 8 or 9
And the Giants aint getting past 5 or 6

And that includes NFC E teams beating us with remaining games on their schedule
So the magic number for us is 11 wins. We're at 6-2, as i see it, agreed splitting the next two games is a perfectly fine result. So for me i think it's something like

@GB: L 6-3 (Splitting the first two games, so ill split them based on home and away)
DET: W 7-3 (Splitting the first two games, so ill split them based on home and away)
@DAL: L 7-4 (I always expect to split the Dallas games, so ill retain that here, but honestly we should win)
CHI: W 8-4 (CHI dont scare me, at home, we'll be heavy favourites and should win)
@LAC W 9-4 (Chargers are a tough team but that's going to be a home game for us, QB is good, we're better)
LVR 10-4 (We should be heavy home favourites here, no reason to loss this game)
@WAS W 11-4 (We should have swept them last year, before Hurts went out. We're not as good this year, they're not close, might be season over and shutting down players by this point for them)
@BUF W 12-4 (I think we win, the QB scares me, could easily lose this but i think we're better)
WAS W 13-4 (If this game means anything we win, it might not and we sit everyone and we lose but if that's the case it doesnt matter)

Short of some absolute disaster ive got us going 13-4.... 11-6 seems like the floor which would be an NFC E repeat champion for the first time in 20+ years. As for the #1 seed... GB has a very nice set up, i think they're going to win 13 games, maybe 14, so this upcoming game and the tie breaker could be hugely consequentsial

The Bucs we already own the tie breaker but they've got a tougher run coming up, i cant see them getting past 12 wins.

Re: tiebreaker its unlikely to matter with GB as they have a tie. The following game against Detroit is much more important in that respect.

We already own it against TB as you mentioned but also LAR which could be important.

So if we beat DET we own 3 key tiebreakers. GB will require us to have a better record (win or lose next game). That really leaves Seattle and 9ers as teams where conference record could be a factor.

Yeah i hadnt considered the tie
You're right, the tie breaker is unlikley to come into the play with GB

Seattle have some tough games to come, the Niners have a cupcake schedule but im not scared of them. They'll drop enough games to fall out of the race for the top seeds imo. Their QB makes too many mistakes, especially when games are tight and their HC turtles up. They have to be a juggernaut talent team and they're not that with the injuries.

Eagles trading for Carter II
Primarily a slot corner, so i guess the CB plan short term is to move Cooper DeJean to outside corner and play Carter II in the slot
It cost virtually nothing, Metchie and some 6/7th swaps so even if it doesnt work out that's fine. It could be a really impactful move though, when Carter is healthy he's a very good slot corner and i have no doubt DeJean can be a significant upgrade at CB2

For the rest of this year, chasing another title that's fine.
But i really dont want that long term. Long term i think DeJean in the slot and being close to the LOS to make plays in run support, coming down hill on the quick game and snuffing out the screens, bubbles etc, and locking down the middle of the field with Baun, Dean and Campbell is really what makes him a special player.

So hopefully outside CB2 is figured out this off season and we can get DeJean back into the slot/nickle next year but for this year, it seems like he's gonna be CB2

Yeah it seems it will be how you describe it. It's probably the best available option for this season but not something I would want long term

I dont think this will be the last deal done either
Howie still has three 3rd round picks, if he can move one of them for an Edge that can be impactful, i think he'll do it

Rumours swirling that we are going to have a good crack at Myles Garrett

You could just about stop the fight if we get him.

From our side it apparently will take 3 first rounders. One can assume this team will compete for a few years yet so they would be back end but still.... first round talent is first round talent and thats a long time to miss out. If we win another SB or 2 then I guess its worth it

From browns POV apparently they aren't willing to let him go. Im not sure why, the dude is elite but he is 29 and he won't be helping them win anything given the basket case they are in the few years left of his prime. It makes absolute sense for them to trade him for multiple first rounders IMO.

Not gonna happen. It's clickbait.

I just don't see how they in a position to take on another huge contract when they have so many key players eligible for new contracts before 2026. Goedert, Reed, Dean, Carter, Smith and Charley Hughlett.

The Eagles have so far managed the cap by having a very expensive offense and an inexpensive defense. The defense is already going to be more expensive in 2026 without taking on a $20 million player.

Ewww

howie is really just throwing any shit he can find at the wall for cb2 and hoping it sticks

Myles Garrett would be incredible and I think if we got him, repeating is well and truly on but i completely agree it’s not gonna happen

Phillips is who I’ve got my eye on at at edge
A third for Phillips would be good business
