Peter Badel in the Brisbane press is reporting we are aggressive looking
at Shibasaki and Jesse Arthur’s, that’s to be expected , but let’s see if they are actually successful. The front office has been
Interested in few players but haven’t completed their signing, let’s hope they get them done.
Either one would be a good get, particularly Shibasaki.

At a guess, Shibasaki would be for 2027 only but one would think Arthurs’s may angle for 2026 release
Agreed, but with JAC, Russell, Penisini and Simonsson on the books for 2026, I don't think anyone is coming to Parra if they demand to play 20 NRL games next year.

do you think Jeral Skelton, Tom Jenkins and Blake Wilson make those demands to their respective clubs as back up wingers?
I think his point is there’s less incentive to move clubs if you just going to same level pecking order, other than maybe more money. Should we pay Arthur’s more than his reported $350k if he isn’t definitely displacing Simonsson or Russell?

I reckon if we do sign him then it’ll be because Simonsson will be the next Matterson and we won’t see him play NRL for us again. Which would mean it’d only be a deck chair move anyway, and Ryles will be forced to choose Tago/Alameddine

Interesting observation if you think Arthur’s doesn’t offer as much as some players he would compete with at the club. He’s quicker than anyone except JAC and is a danger from most areas of the pitch. Anyway , he would have to sign and our front office would need to sell him something, given that previously they thought Farnsworth wasn’t worth what he was asking for when available it’s a judgement call.

If they didn't want to be backups they wouldn't have signed at those clubs. Why do you think Simonsson wanted out of Parra?

right, so why should we be any different to any other club? why is it that we're unable to find a back up winger better than Tago and Mo Al??

it is absolutely embarrassing that those guys are actually option let alone next cab of the rank for a spot.

He's quick but a bit of a lightweight, and unlike JAC he doesn't have elite speed or game sense. Arthars is about as good as Sean Russell. He would be in our top five outside backs, and would play at least a dozen games for us. He might play every game depending on availability of other players.

They're not next cab off the rank. They have at least six players ahead of them.
