Was looking at the 40 pound a month cost! You can get a full year for a mere $300 lol

Still lying you gobshite.

You lied and inflated the cost over 4 times to try and make a point on the internet, not expecting to be called out by a non-Australian resident who is a WatchNRL subscriber but I have the receipts. How embarrassing. Outing yourself not to be trusted again.

Talks about how Foxtel overpaid for afl then tries to drag nrl into it saying it’s an industry issue
You are incredibly naive if you think an organisation like DAZN would not look to cut costs and that it's not an industry issue.

I get you're desperate to place NRL above AFL but this kind of rhetoric is pointless and unhelpful

Dazn is going to pay nrl a record deal

More than they pay afl because it’s their number one product by a long long way

And that’s before you factor in expansion

That’s why they need to cut the afl deal as they are in real danger of losing the content that keeps the network going to stan

The afl currently receive 418 million pa from Foxtel

That would mean the nrl is worth 450 million to them even before you factor in all the new clubs

Currently Foxtel pay nrl around 200 million pa

Rugby league is the only sport in Australia which is “must have”

Foxtel will need to find an extra 250 million to keep the nrl otherwise stan is going to get the rights and shut them out

You can talk like you're beating your chest all you like, doesn't make you right.

Wait a few months and see if I’m right or not

I said ages ago Foxtel paid overs for the afl and it wasn’t justifiable by their ratings

Now Stan is bidding for those rights Foxtel is in a bind

It’s not chest beating either it’s stating facts and what the nrl should be getting

When it comes to pay tv nrl is untouchable

DANZ will be cutting sports like traders sell stocks that aren't or don't look like performing in future..
To buy stocks that will..

The AFL'S future potential is very minimal .
I would presume that DANZ would like to free up capital to invest in something that has more potential growth opportunities... Which is the NRL.

It's pretty obvious.

The only real question is to what extent is it legal and to what extent is this brand damaging from a public perspective.

I'd say they're currently testing the waters.

Strange how Perth red no longer seems interested in the broadcast debate..
Not much to debate at this point. Either Vlandys will get $600mill+ and atoned for his last sht deal, or he wont and will have failed again. Not much to debate, just wait now and see what transpires. We can shout at clouds about viewing figures and value all we like but end of day will largely come down to how much competition for the rights there are.
