I don't want to piss off any West Tigers fans but what is the best solution to this problem as I hate the idea of merged clubs playing out off 2/3 different grounds which most don't pass for an NRL grounds these days.

The problem these days they are no.longer a 2 club merger

But a 3 way club

They are the one club that makes sense to play at Homebush, especially after the new metro opens

But their future is in Liverpool / Campbelltown / Picton / Blue Mts

If they want to remain a Ashfield-Leichhardt based club then they will have to allow the Dogs to move into the South West

But the 2nd airport has the potential to change dynamics in the area as it forms a new barrier in the West

The Blue Mountains is already Penrith .

When the merger occurred Wests were playing out of Campbelltown so the Campbelletown area should be part of the West Tigers catchment but the inner West is still an important part also, really its a no win situation and i reckon we will still be talking about this in 20 years time.

The solution would be to play 2 games at Leichhardt, then 8 games at Campbelltown and then 2 bigger games at Accor (dogs, parra)

So mainly based out of Campbelltown. But then stadium would need a good upgrade for this scenario, not sure if the 100m or so proposed would be sufficient. Needs to hold 25k with decent corporates.

Otherwise just base the tigers out of Accor for 8 games, and then 2 games each at Leichhardt and Campbelltown. This is probably a better long term option when Accor is upgraded/rebuilt.

They’ve to cover a lot of Sydney and it’s too thin. It was a messed up merger in 1999 and nothing has changed 26 years later

Its interesting to me that the fan bases have coalesced and get on with each other much more readily than our actual management does.

The cart is before the horse as soon as money and power is involved.

We’ve learned to be contemptuous of the boards for the most part.

As @Vic Mackey may agree, it’s the only way us fans and members have toughed it out.

If you visit the LU wests tigers forum, stacks of us are actually club members with a dog in the fight. Proportionally, one of the most populated of members on the net. Not in numbers, but in proportion.

It’s an ancient rite of rugby league sodomy!

Anyway, we’ve been invited to talk directly to the ceo and everyone’s going for it.

I’ll hand the phone over to @blue bags, he’s better at heavy breathing.

Otherwise, Benjis for it, my fave Terrell needs a pay rise, trade Api… I can hardly wait.

Isn't that a waste of 2 stadiums.

A waste of Campbelltown and leichardt? These upgrades they’re going to do are not super significant, just bringing them more up to speed to today’s standards. I think the tigers and nrl just need to figure out what’s the future of stadiums in the men’s nrl with teams like the tigers. Play out of smaller suburban grounds that have just enough corporate facilities with a capacity of around 20k. Or play out of larger modern centralised stadiums.

If they do play out of Accor mostly with the odd game at Campbelltown and Leichhardt, it gives further justification to rebuild Accor and it gives nrlw more suitable venues to be playing at as well. I’d imagine the nrlw tigers team to play 2x independent games leichardt, 2x independent games Campbelltown.

Can we for the love of god stop spending money on projects like stadiums!

Anyone whining about any of the following:
- interest rates,
- cost of living, or
- housing,

who also thinks adding more stadium spend to the 240bn infrastructure and construction pipeline needs a tattoo on their forehead to warn the general public of their hypocrisy.

Yes, i think the solution for the Tigers is not what most people point to….

It is not to:
- move stadiums
- split the merge
- relocate
- fold
- more orange
- less orange
- more magpies
- less Benji

people are looking at the symptoms rather than the cause.

Remove the license from Wests Ashfield (or whoever has it now) and find a new owner!!!

ARLC did it with GC and Newcastle to great effect. Nothing else will matter while this bag of cats owns the license

Thing is, in both the cases you cited, it was due to those owners being in financial difficulties. Wests Ashfield is not in anyway in financial difficulties.

very true. Its a shame the NRL didnt take 50% ownership when Balmain collapsed.

Can they have their licence stripped for consistently acting like wankers?

If they ddid that, I suspect you'd have had about 40-50% of clubs having been stripped on their licences over the last 20+ years by now.
