I agree.

It would be the NRL's wet dream to see the Eels "do a Penrith" - could you imagine the merchandise revenue, ticket sales, memberships, TV viewership, etc. if Parramatta became dominant?

We are a massively-supported club.

It's in the NRL's best interests to see us do well.

But their job is to manage the league as a whole, which would entail unbiased processes.

Having said that, I'm not sure why they felt the need to back the Storm in this Lomax situation.

NRL will benefit waaaaay more from having strong Sydney and QLD clubs. If Melbourne fell over tomorrow, no one would suffer. In fact it would strengthen the rest of the league, especially the underrepresented QLD market.

I disagree. It's about territory and potential. Think long term. Storm give rugby league exposure in Melbourne.

Feeling a bit irrelevant? Needed to start a BA brawl to soothe the inner troll?
BA ????

Is this the same bloke who cant get a gig in the NRL atm stuck in Leeds.

The same coach that had the Perth gig 99% locked in and then PVL asked around for a few references to validate the decision.

Left the process mortified at some of the feedback from our club then went wow maybe Mal Meninga is a better option.

They've been around for almost thirty years, won a bajillion comps, and still, nobody down there gives a shit about them.

That tide won't ever change.

Imagine for a second of Parramatta won 4 consecutive Premierships, like Penrith did - short of the Rabbitohs, or Dragons, doing something like that, it is hard to envision any event that would have a bigger impact on the game in Australia than that.

I disagree. We should be feeding RL to the people who really want it, not fans who might watch it as a second or third option. Expansion should go up and across, not down and over.

Who would draw better TV viewership, do you think - Melbourne, or the Eels?

And what if the Eels were winning comps?

Even fans of teams that hate us will tune in to watch us lose - I am not sure the same could be said for the Storm.

We are a sleeping giant of the NRL.

Sure but if we were winning comps we'd probably steal fans off kids who would of chosen another Sydney side rather then losing them to AFL. I think people didnt give a shit about Storm 10yrs ago. I thjnm nowdays their quite a popular side

These key findings are derived from detailed in-depth interview with over 60,000 Australians each year as part of the Roy Morgan Single Source survey.
Question: Which NRL team do you support?
Probably like 20,000 respondents from Victoria.
Apply maths
Scum have ONE MILLION fans!

Firstly it's Football not soccer.

As far as "hard to deal with" Do we have a long track record of this sort of behaviour or is it a unique situation? I cant think of this happening recently to earn ud this sort of reputation. Perhaps if it happened multiple times I'd agree.

To me it shows we are firm and no bullshit. No beating around the bush or playing games. Whilst plenty of bullshit artists are successful its generally short lived. If you want long term success you must gain trust and respect.
Apparently we got this reputation by not throwing overs at every merkin who wanted to boost his retirement fund.
