Is it fair to say that the Cowboys game is a must win?

To me, yes.

We haven’t won our first game of the year for 6 years, we’ve been starting the year on the back foot. A team like ours needs that confidence boost straight away.

If we’re going to be serious this year then the cowboys at Leichhardt is not two points we can be dropping. It’s an absolute must win

Every game is a must win game....that ( set in stone) mindset is why Melbourne/ Bellamy never miss the 8 and rarely miss the 4 no matter how many complete roster rotations they've had during his tenure. Not having that mindset is why the "also rans" rely on mathematical probability in the final rounds.
Though if you're 0 and 10, you do start to wonder hahaha

In golf, the most important shot you'll play is the shot your about to make next, not the ones you've had. Footy is the same.

I don’t follow them at all, but Galvin playing the 7 jumper?
Interesting. I hope it all falls apart for him.
I missed his name but apparently the dogs have a gun ½ coming thru to push galvin back out to ⅝.
Galvin wanted that left side with us, but interestingly he's now formed a great combo with Preston on the right, go figure.
The dogs have the luxury of playing big men wide in Preston and Kickacow.
Something I'm looking fwd to with our own KPP and Samuela Fainu when the timing is right.

Apparently a kick hit the roof earlier in a game or warmup maybe. What's the rule if it happens in a real game, maybe a dead ball like in cricket?

I felt sick dragons losing that game.. Galvin fked up he didn’t manage the field goal for Burton. No wonder Crighton took the 2 points on 2 occasion's instead of entrusting Galvin.. and so close to the line..Very lucky win

I thought Galvin was pretty poor apart from the run and pass to Preston. Burton was the better of the halves and he wasn't great. Crichton is a weapon.

It's a long season to go and the Dogs have a good team. Their edge forwards are unreal. Kikau and Preston are awesome. Kiraz is great. Crichton is a star. The middle forwards get the job done.

The issue is do they have the class in their spine.

I should add that I didn't think that was a penalty. Saints were screwed.

Newcastle look a much better team compared to last year. They have some talent but Ponga is their key player. He is one of the best in the game as well.

I missed that game..but yea Pongas the guy
There were a couple of suss calls in that bulldogs game. Against the saints. Mind you crichtons pass was hardly forward. And the ref was only guessing the angle he was looking from

Galvin just hasn't got NRL experience and is being paid as if he has.
Players are being paid on potential which puts undue pressure on the cap, sort of makes it hard for an outsider to identify who the marquee players are.

Fletcher Sharpe is taking the heat off Ponga somewhat. He's an exceptional talent.
They have Best, Brown, Young and a few other guns but have an aging Gagai (35) and Frizell (34), and
they also lost an absolute gun edge in KPP.
Their halves have been a revolving door and they're banking on Brown to sort this out. 🤔

What's our bench going to be?
Is Madden going to be 14? Or mabe Hope?
I think it will depend on whether Benji wants a dedicated dummy half or a utility.
The rest could be....
Si Fianu
Seyfarth
Afoa, is he still on a development contract? If so and not upgraded into top 30 then maybe Hunt will get a gig.
I wouldn't be upset if Charlie Murray got a run as well. He trialled very well.

Another season is on us and some things dont changed. The commentators banging on how great the game is, it would be easier to take all that nonsense in if the league addressed the unfair playing field they have developed and accepted as normal practice.
For starers the draw, always benefits Brisbane with Friday night games and 7 day turn arounds, bye rounds Melbourne are going for 20+ wins in the first round , what that says is that they are over due for a bye round in the first round as their last one was 2004, unlike the Tigers who are having their second in 3 years. The lesser clubs getting screwed with the 50/50 calls like Saints yesterday by the ref. As i said some things never change, for teams like us to be really successful this year we have to over come what the privileged teams just consider a normal entitlement.
