I have a bad feeling about this……..
The outcome could be be anything and it depends on who is the most motivated.

If Storm / NRL are keen for stuff not to go public about shenanigans, then the cards might fall in our favour.

If settlement is being encouraged by PVL and he is in fact applying the blow torch, then we might all be very disappointed.

Going off PVL's comments on the weekend, he is hoping that we go with B more than A.

Hey, maybe we don't GAF and take a hard-nosed commercial decision ? I mean, who needs to be best friends with PVL anyway ? What does it buy you ?

You can’t force someone to play for a club they don’t want to play for and have no contract with.
But if Lomax wins, then you can have a player to play for a club where the previous club has a release agreement with. Then why not the other way around because what's written is irrelevant

If we don’t get a player in return or at least $700k in cap dispensation for 3 years we have lost this fight.
Agree. That was the value of the contract we released Lomax from - it's simply not fair an NRL competitor gets him for those years without some equivalent recompense flowing our way.

Either an equivalent player swap from the Storm, maybe balanced by financial recompense (like Matto's remaining salary off their cap). Under the release Lomax requested stating he wasn't going to play NRL, this is what we've always said would be reasonable in return for our consent for him to join an opposition club.

Or - since we seem to have successfully dragged the NRL big guns into this - some recognition that Melbourne's salary cap be reduced by the value of Lomax's contract with us for the years until he would have become a free agent, with some small financial benefit to us (like Matto's remaining salary being covered by Melbourne, rather than our cap) as a transfer fee.

He can’t do shit as it’s already a court matter, whatever the court rules then must be abided by, my point is if they are being bullied then follow through with the process

My post was referring out an out-of-court settlement.
