No I said he wouldn’t have had to go (present perfect tense, not present tense), assuming the hypothetical that they were “going to just pay him out and release him”.

He didn’t have to do anything. He doesn’t for us. Why would it be any different in Melbourne? More likely is that he wants a medical retirement and signing with a new club would jeopardise that.

According to the latest rumour (sourced from a rugby league journo), Matterson did want to go to Melbourne but wanted a second year. That’s more money to not play rugby league than a medical retirement and certainly doesn’t support your claim that he didn’t want to go.

What’s the truth? None of us know. That’s why these are all rumours.

We know what you said.

Personally , be lovely if we got decent football benefit Zac coming back to the NRL. Not the Storm or dogs or manly ( then he f..ks off to the r360 in 28’)

Wonder if any other NRL clubs are doing their math and possibly come to the Parra table?? Now knowing how serious we are in terms of what we want..

At the end of the day Zac would easily be top 3-4 wingers in the game, and slot into the top 13 in a number of NRL teams..

No team is going ro give up a player that's representative level, which is what we want (or take matto off our hands).

Our best chance is to sign a player for 2027 and try to get their current team to do an early player swap..

Which we should be trying to do with the Wahs For Barnett.

I think there's a fair bit to play out in this saga and we're every chance of being the beneficieries,

Wasn’t even thinking of another player tbh, unrealistic to get like for like..

Matto (after a few solid performances in nsw cup 😇) might be a punt for another club + Lomax

With the amount Lomax would have made over the past 7-8 years, he should be able to just take two years off and train full time. He will come back fresh and injury free for 2028. Or just play rugby for triple the average annual salary for a couple of years. What a f**king greedy merkin he is thinking he can only afford to play NRL. If your mortgage is too much, sell the house and buy something for under $2M ffs
