I hope the Storm win big tonight as playing them after they lose a game may add that little bit of motivation to belt the saints and play to their dirty best. All the wrestling moves will be out for show at WIN Stadium.

If Saints can come out of these 2 games (Dogs and Storm) with losses and a points diff of less than 6 that would still be a solid result as you would expect them to lose to them. The games to worry about losing is to the teams not expected to make the 8. Dogs and Storm are teams that can pile on points and will do so with most teams so it would be good to get them out of the way with minimal damage.

Eels, Titans, Cows and Manly to follow which are games that Saints can make up ground. If Saints are 3-3 it will not be a bad start to the season at all. A realistic target after 6 games.
The last tine we bt Parra at Parra was when Mary left.
We all remember the 44'40 when we had all to play for and the year before we led 14-0 at ht and got bt.
And after what the Storm did last night.
If we are going to be near the 8 we have to bt the top teams.
Last week a point would of been great.

Super coach Ryles cops another 50+ points agianst the Storm. With Mitch and Pezez in the halves which everyone is saying will be a dynamic halves combo (including me) they managed 1 try. If anything, Parra got worse from 56-18 in 2025 to 52-4.

How weird was it seeing both Browny and Ryles in the coaches box. The brains trust of the Eels. If they were in the Dragons box the media would still have rated Saints to come last yet, at Parra they are the saviour and will bring them top 4.

Parra have Bronco's next week and Saints Storm so going into round 3 you would expect both to be on 0-2. Interesting to see how Broncos go tonight in their first game against the Panthers.

If you compare the 2 teams Parra and Saints from Rd 1 how much better was the defence of the Dragons against the Dogs with so much ball compared to Parra? The Strom were carving them up in the middle. Whereas the Dogs needed a forward pass break and a Critter flick pass out wide to score their tries. Before we compare Dogs and Storm, Storm were missing Katoa, Loiero and Blore there backrow basically replaced by Chan, Lisati and MacDonald and Pap replaced by Faaologo who will be a star mind you. Parra were missing there winger Addo-Carr. Whereas the Dogs were more or less full strength.

The Storm had 0 calls inside the 10 and only 5 ruck infringements compared to Parrs 1 inside 10 and 8 ruck infringements. Storms brilliant discipline continues according to refs. Saints have a tough one next week and really need to be on their toes or they will get smashed by the refs.

The following is from this article (source: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...s/news-story/55a1d821f4ef3fd28ca59a2587a71f95) on Fox Sports website -

Dragons v NRL crisis talks after Vegas drama

The Dragons are set to face off with the NRL to discuss the officiating during their 15-14 golden point loss to the Bulldogs in Las Vegas.

ode Sports’ Michael Carayiannis is reporting the club will have the chance to ask questions when they meet with top NRL officials on Friday.

The report stating the NRL’s Brock Schaefer and Jared Maxwell, who control the refereeing departments, will meet with officials from St George Illawarra to discuss the Dragons’ complaints after last weekend.

It’s believed the club remain aggrieved and frustrated after several rulings which didn’t go their way in the 2025 season as well.

The meeting will also talk through key decisions made by referee Grant Atkins during the game at Allegiant Stadium.

They include a golden-point strip call, which ruled Ryan Couchman raked the ball from Bronson Xerri. The decision led to a penalty, and a field goal opportunity which was taken by Stephen Crichton to win the game.

The Dragons aren’t in action until next Saturday March 14, when they take on the Melbourne Storm.

Harry Grant coming off early in the Eels game with a hamstring strain.
Would doubt Bellamy will risk him this week, especially being so early in the season.

I’m sorry that you accept mediocrity like the club does. Give yourself an uppercut
I suspect you've suffered from one too many uppercuts. Time for a HIA for you. It's fascinating how warped, petty, mean spirited minds like yours operate. We lost 15-14 with 5 seconds to go in golden point in round 1 against a top 4 team from last year and last years best defensive side. The only thing stopping us from flying out of Vegas with a draw and 1 point was a refereeing decision that even most fair minded Bulldogs supporters admit was wrong.
So yeah I guess seeing that game in a balanced and objective light must be accepting mediocrity.
Most of us here know what accepting mediocrity looks like - we saw it during the Price, McGregor and Griffin eras.
It's true that its taken the club longer than we all want to disentangle itself from that particular sh#tstorm of a period but it's slowly happening. First the coach, then last year Daniel Anderson coming on board and getting us the first genuine marquee signing in yonks and also a new CEO who is driving change in the head office and strategising for the club to get back to where we all want to see it.
And if we are mediocre then at least we weren't as mediocre in round 1 as the Broncos, The Roosters and the Parramatta Tadpoles.

Agree here ........ ( And if we are mediocre then at least we weren't as mediocre in round 1 as the Broncos, The Roosters and the Parramatta Tadpoles. ) Yes we were good only problem here is , can we play any better ....... ? The other teams will get better .......
