Plenty of merkins were pissed we only signed him for a year.Noone was jumping for joy when we signed him. Braith is a marketing genius.

but we could have used the Pezet money to strengthen other areas like a forward or outside back and played Joash at 5/8 for another year until Lorenzo was ready. That would have made us strongerI still think Pezet will be a handy acquisition. He is as brought in as as stop gap while Lorenzo gets a season in cup against men - only then will he be ready for first grade.
being honest - Mitch won’t play 26 games this year - history says he’ll pick up some sort of injury and miss time, and very likely play origin - that’s where Pezet plays 7 and can direct the team around.
Pezet and Mitch together is going to take some work to gel as they are both used to being dominant playmakers. That benefits us when Mitch is off the field.
Whilst I question MON and our recruitment teams decisions, the Broncos didn’t sign Pezet to be their long term 7 just because Anasta talked him up. They are the premier club and rarely make poor recruitment decisions - and valued Pezet enouth that they released a gem in Cody Black who I know was rated so highly up here.
think we’re still a few weeks away from seeing Pezet anywhere near his best and that’s largely due to him playing a somewhat unfamiliar position to work in with Mitch
You don’t know the meaning of “rarely” quite clearly, I never said they have never made a mistake.but we could have used the Pezet money to strengthen other areas like a forward or outside back and played Joash at 5/8 for another year until Lorenzo was ready. That would have made us stronger
They are the premier club and rarely make poor recruitment decisions...Tom Dearden

They replaced him with Adam Reynolds, and since doing so have won a premiership and came within a bee’s dick of anotherThey are the premier club and rarely make poor recruitment decisions...Tom Dearden
I just don’t see it with him, he may be a handy fullback up but that’s about it. Not a 6’s arsehole.Joash for all the stepping and stuttering I haven't seen much attacking output.
He's not related to Simonson by any chance?
They should pushing for a premiership every single year with their ridiculously unfair advantages. Bronco dollars are real some of the stories over the years are mind blowing. They replaced him with Adam Reynolds, and since doing so have won a premiership and came within a bee’s dick of another
Oh agreed, given the natural advantages they have they’re massive under-achievers over the last two decades. I was just making the point that pointing to Tom Dearden as the Broncos having shit recruitment and retention isn’t a particularly strong example. But there are plenty of them - never forget Brodie Croft was their halfback saviour. They should pushing for a premiership every single year with their ridiculously unfair advantages. Hull KR made Croft look like Alfie Langer in Vegas. shows how shit the Suoerleague is.Oh agreed, given the natural advantages they have they’re massive under-achievers over the last two decades. I believe it was in the 1980s when you won 4 comps. Great backline, Sterlo, Burt (who I would have above Wally Lewis), the Crow, Zip Zip man and the Guru.We have an attack ?
When did this happen ?
They made Brodie Croft their captain and obtained a spoon. He was so bad they had to release him early. They aren’t immune from making poor decisions. They were extremely lucky that Reece Walsh fell back into their lap after they initially let him go.I still think Pezet will be a handy acquisition. We would probably be much weaker this year with Talataina in the top 17.but we could have used the Pezet money to strengthen other areas like a forward or outside back and played Joash at 5/8 for another year until Lorenzo was ready. That would have made us stronger
They played in two grand finals without Dearden. They are the premier club and rarely make poor recruitment decisions...Tom Dearden
He could be on big money and it still wouldn’t have stopped us signing anyone else. There aren’t enough first graders for 17 clubs. There’s going to be plenty of overpaid plodders in the NRL once the Bears join the comp. You don’t know the meaning of “rarely” quite clearly, I never said they have never made a mistake.
So when Mitch is injured or in origin you want who to run the team? Papalii?
we have plenty of money - there was no outside backs or forwards on the market for 26. Signing Pezet who isn’t on big money didn’t impact us signing anyone else
ffsThey replaced him with Adam Reynolds, and since doing so have won a premiership and came within a bee’s dick of another
Because it was a no win situation. He develops well then the Broncos get the benefit, he goes shit then he is just filling the space Joash should be filling. Just a poor decision either way.Plenty of merkins were pissed we only signed him for a year.
