Someone has to do to post match press conferences but otherwise yehI'd get rid of coaches. They bring nothing much to the game except "dark arts" and whinging.
If we got rid of them and had captain/coaches the game would be better off - that is a fact.
This quote from Josh Hannay is funny.“They’re all doing their job. We’ve got to play by the rules like everyone else.
“You adjust to how the game is being officiated and then it changes again and they’ll crack down on something else.
“You’ve constantly got to roll with punches with the game, where it’s at and how it’s trending. Those who adapt the quickest win.”
It's like they got together and said "How can we change the rules to make the Storm even more dominant?"

And the Dragon's get more 40:60 calls go their wayI don't like the idea of pools or conferences.
Until we get a proper home and away season without Vegas, magic round, SOO in the middle of it or uneven number of teams the comp will never be fair.
It’s frustrating because refs don’t focus on certain things for ages so a standard is set. They then completely change the threshold for a set restart/penalty. Fans get used to the new standard of everything getting picked up and then they relax the threshold again. In 2 weeks time they will instruct the refs to stop giving 6 agains, and then say "see the teams learnt to be more disciplined". Everyone will know it's bullshit, and we'll be here again in 2 months after they've had to resort to another mid-season crackdown.

It's two things imo.
1. More tries apparently means 'more excitement' to push the next tv deal. Also more tries is more ad breaks on FTA. Probably trying to get the breaks up there with fumble league so ad revenue alone is worth more.
2. Pressure to get clubs to agree to his ridiculous kick off rule to 'alleviate momentum building against one team'.
If the refs had to front the media or a panel or whatever and be held accountable and actually have to justify individual restarts and decisions, in lieu of legitimate penalties, which is what the rule was designed for in the first place, no way would their explanations hold up, and they'd more then likely pull their head in and back off flapping their arms around because they wouldn't want to be under the blow torch for so long every week.
But PVL would never let that happen while they run his agenda on the field.
Are set restarts penalties? If they are, our game is on par with union in terms of number of penalties
Roosters/Rabbits - 9-11
Broncos/Eels - 12-7
Drua/Brumbies - 10-9
Reds/waratahs - 10-9
Why not go to quarters then if they don’t care about the fabric of the gameI mean, his job is to max revenue

Im not arguing any of that, what i am saying is long have we criticised union for the amount of penalties but our game at the moment has as many if not more. And ball in play?
For as long as I can remember in RL the good teams have tactically have away penalties.
When you guys went back to back pre PVL days, the media was whinging you and Storm giving away penalties defending your line.
We are seeing that with the 6 against.
Does anyone think the 2017 product was better then now?
