While the Warriors were the better team on the day, the 18-7 penalty count in their favour, did not help the Roosters. I at least a couple of instances, we were hard done by. Walker and DCE did not perform well either. They gelled a lot better against the Rabbitohs and as a team, we played well. But so to did the Rabbitohs. I mentioned elsewhere about Latrell having a decent game and pulling his finger out. If he keeps it out and doesn't go back into his shell, the Rabbitohs will win their fair share. Finally, the way the comp stands at this time, any side playing at their best, can beat any of the top echelon sides on a given day. We have Robson back this week, and when Victor and Leniu return, we will give the premiership a run for its money. (We need to stay injury free) which prompts me to raise the Knights, and losing their two stars!! I know how they feel since we, the Roosters went through our catastrophic injury year in 2023/24. In my very humble, non medical opinion, the speed of the game today, and the fitness that demands of players, could be responsible for the number of season ending injuries. Obviously their muscles and sinews are taut and tight, and one wrong movement or twist and things start tearing/breaking etc. Have been a Rooster supporter for 62 years, lived in Paddo until I was 12, played my junior league with the now defunct Woollahra Waratahs. Played against such ESDJRL players such as Kevin Junee, Greg (hollywood) Hartley and Barry (Bunny) Reilly.
