Round 4 vs titans.

Essentially no change other than the couchmans who were actually a couple of our better players. Still looks too big and too slow coupled with key players being too old and too hopeless. We might beat the titans because they're no good too, thats the only bright point.

I think you’ve gone off a tad early about Flanno getting the arse next week. Zero chance of that happening
A substitute head coach needs to be signed first or else we will end up in a much worse position with Dean Young. So sack Young first and then sign a new head coach, allowing him to pick his own defensive coach.

How dare this coach have this much obstinance and neglect for this club by failing to enact change in the team.

The halves missed the countless opportunities thrown at them, and the backs are proving just too slow for first grade. Throw something new up. NYC is going well - surely Fale, Halangahu and Reed can be moved into the starting side to have a go, and send a message to the rest of the player who have lapses during games that if you drop the ball in the red v you don't get to wear it anymore. Losing culture is just being exacerbated by this guy now.

SF is trying to double-down and put his faith in a group of players that keep stuffing up winning opportunities, and we are not talking three games, we are referring to pretty much almost every match since mid 2024 when we simply forgot how to win. It's all made much worse by the fact one of the biggest failures is his own son but let's just focus on what the bare basics of a good coach is here.

No one is expecting wholesale changes and trying to reinvent ourselves but this pick and stick is just trash when you lose this much, and I feel like he is vindicating everything the team does. Shane Flanagan has never backed up his words with actions and a success rate 37% does not usually pass muster in any line of work.

Why are people hating on Setu Tu here? I think he’s been pretty good thus far tbh. Good in Vegas, hard to do much against the Storm when all the space was for Val instead, and against Parra his work rate was outstanding. Also, against Parra our halves, FB and the man inside him (Val) all had shockers, so he saw minimal quality ball. Not a chance Fale does better with that oppprtunity tbh

don’t think it’s a coincidence Fale is playing on the Left Wing in NSW cup - it’ll be for CT

100% agree. Not to mention that he has also been defensively sound as well. I think people are just upset that he's a 27 year old reserve grade winger with a starting spot (which indicates where our club is at), rather than judging him on the actual merits of his performances.

I'm sure the game plan will be no different this week.
With Guler and Lawrie starting it will be very simple.

The game plan won't change, however the game plan is not necessarily the problem it's the errors, the dumb decision making, the execution.
We get field position, we create opportunities then someone stuffs it up. when did Val forget how to pass a f#*@ing ball.

This is why I think Flano is not changing anything, he backs the game plan but feels they are not executing.

Obviously Kyle being a playmaker and his son is an big issue, the other being Gutho is on big money he was brought in to lead the team at the back and the coach will keep backing him to perform based on his experience even if he's not in form.

We just need better players in these key positions.
Looks like 2026 is going to be no different to 2025.

My tip? Titans by 8. Their team is on average 2 years younger than ours, and given we run out of puff after 30 minutes I expect that age difference will be telling.
Control the ball better and maybe the Goldies tire.

To think that before the season I was considering flying up for the game with a couple of days around it as a little break.

I’m too disappointed to bother.

Not what we were promised when Flanno was appointed head coach for 2024. 2024 was to be a stabilising year, some improvement in 2025 and great improvement in 2026...the exact opposite is ocurring.
