He surely isn't facing the sack.

Wasn't it just a public nuisance charge.

Its not like he decided to drive under the influence of Drugs while unlicensed and crash a car into a uber driver with a young girl in it.
Come on now mate there was no reason to be racist about it.

I think we get Ryles/Moses/Fox into the Trump/PVL school of interview.
Have them talk nothing but positivity about the club and every time they are doing an interview think of it like they are talking to key players who will are or will one day be recruiting. Stop answering the questions the media are asking and say things from a script.

I think I already said this yesterday. But it is a very good point.

Further evidence of the bang up job our esteemed R&R team are doing, the SMH rank us 14th most valuable roster in the cmo. Flying above the Tits and Dragqueens, oh what joy, actually obvious given the roster has basically deteriorated each year since the GF of 2022.

Hopefully Matt Beach and the board read the SMH and understand just what depths we have fallen too and make the necessary adjustments to the club. Not sure of the chance of that occurring, given the pats on the back they all give each other, but that’s where we are folks.
They should go back to offering POs.

Or there not interested in being coached by Ryles, u appear to absolve Ryles from much criticism, let’s not forget this is his team, he may not be happy with it, but he’s responsible for the sackings and hiring, or am incorrect regarding this as well?
The coach isn't in charge of recruitment. You've been told this a number of times. His job is coaching the first grade side. That's it. He is a stakeholder in junior development, recruitment and especially player retention, so he would have some input into those decisions. But it's a huge area of the game and the head coach just wouldn't have time to run all that stuff.

I know for a fact we have plenty of $$$ for season 2027.
So we really should land 2-3 big names. Problem is do we have the right ppl to execute...
We definitely need 2 props, 1 backrower, 2 centres, 1 winger...they are the most crucial of all the positions.
The rest we have coverage, depth, backups to do a job.
We are going to need to pay overs to land a couple of big names which im fine with as the current recruitment strategy sure ain't working
So basically half a team? I don’t disagree though our spine is very weak at the moment, with Ionghi at fullback, I think Joash is nothing special, but will still be more of a threat with the ball than Ionghi, as long he’s not stepping left to right constantly running on same blade of grass, positioning is utmost importance, he gets that right the gaps will be there

Agree, but Ryles has also publicly stated he has no interest in Xerri which probably doesn’t bode well for then trying to sign him, given he’s always been happy to talk positively about players he’s interested in signing (Galvin, Keaon)
So does Ryles want anyone???

In the past i have seen a few player polls and the question that comes up who do you love beating the most.

Parra always seem in the top 3 or 4 teams in the poll behind Broncos, Roosters & Storm.

What is it about us a club that players love beating us more ahead of teams like Souths, Bulldogs, Manly.
Because they know it’s almost a done deal in regards to beating us

That is why we need a recruitment team in place that makes his job easier in such a way that he is the equivalent of Bellamy and Bennett and has the same impact as those two on recruterment albeit achieved by having to do things significantly differently than those two - namely he needs to be more personally involved in the recruterment.

Ryles has been here less then 2 years while MON has had 8 years here plus working with another coach.

Ryles is not blameless but the rot with recruitment has been going on with recruitment long before he got here.

You look at when Ryles took the job and the money we had already spent for 2026 on the cap.

We lucked in with Lane pulling the pin otherwise that would have been 450-500k, Matto is on the couch taking the piss on 650k a year for the past 2 years & Paulo is on 850-900k a year.

That's almost 2 million of the cap that was originally in the budget for 2026 when Ryles arrived and all were getting atm is Junior Paulo on his last legs.
All valid points.
We haven't got to Dylan Brown & Blaize Talagi (PO) disasters yet.
Oh dear. These players were off contract, which was their choice when they signed the original contracts that included the (unrelated) player options. But even without the POs they would have been off contract, like Russell this year.
Throw in some shit signings in Brian Kelly, Morgan Harper, Jirah Momoisea, Jack Murchie.
Nothing to do with our 2026 roster and none would be on enough money to make a difference to our recruitment/retention. We only signed Kelly because we had so much money left over when Lomax left. And Kelly has been one of our better attacking players, against two of the top teams in the game.
All this has been under MON's watch.

In terms of Ryles team there are bunch he re-signed that you could call questionable but as i said he is still carrying the can still for Matto's dumbarse contract, Jnr on overs at the backend, throw in Shaun Lane last year who played what 4 games so basically your already playing $1mill behind on the cap against the other clubs from decisions made before he got here.

I dont agree with the Pezet signing & that was Ryles call.
Pezet was better than whatever else was available, which was nobody. The main reason he was better was that he only wanted a year. For a 20 year old playmaker in reserve grade, Talataina looks the goods.

Good thing for us is we have 18 players contracted in the top 30 for next season, at a guess we will have around $5 m to spend on players so we can only assume mark O'Neil is hard at work and the other nobody rogers and the Greek alphabet bloke
Just need to wait until the Perth Tooth Fairies have spent most of their cap and the remaining off contract players stop holding out for obscene contract offers.
