This NSO chat is redundant. While NRL games can be played at Coffs Harbour, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange and in recent years Rockhampton, Mackay, Sunshine Coast, Belmore and Kayo - they can also be played at NSO.

All the above sit at approx 10k. There is no real difference between them in capacities.

There are other elements that can be argued against NSO but capacity (whilst we take games to the above stadium locations) isn’t one of them.
Done Belmore dirty being included on that list bra. Has recently hosted games with double the crowds/capacity of those other venues listed while Shark Park which is way more similar to the rest listed wasn’t mentioned.

Perth Bears first strategic plan. Worth a read through, exciting times ahead for the game in WA!

IMG_2234.png

While the two organisations are and

will remain separate and independent

— there will be no more significant

club partner to the Perth Bears than

the North Sydney Bears. The success

of each individual club will contribute

to the success of the other.”

does this mean that when the ARLC go to sell the Perth Bears, North Sydney Bears are barred from becoming partial or full owners?

what things are in place to protect this if the new owners after the ARLC have a falling out with North Sydney Bears?

From that same link:

Become a top-five NRL team

on the field as well as off the

field in both memberships

and crowd attendance

Engage with fans outside”

can’t do that at HBF Park in its current form.

Which is fine but you would sellout Allianz v chooks which has got to be worth at least an extra million dollars for your club

And public transport from all over bears territory to Allianz is very good
Only benefit at nso beyond sentiment is it might drive Sydney memberships through FOMO.

Yes, the plan is a members owned club so no one entity can own a majority.

That’s a good point

My maths was too conservative but

30k extra fans at Allianz paying an average of 80 a ticket is 2.4 million in extra revenue. Assume ground hire of 100k v peanuts at nso

But factor in corporate facilities at Allianz v nso and it’s potentially an additional 3 million in profit

Given how rich north shore is giving them best corporate facilities is worth it

Obviously best case scenario assuming a sell out but it should imo

Obviously in a good time slot for crowds so either Sunday 2 or 4

Trial at NSO and NRL game at Allianz.
Trial games usually only have small crowds and teams frequently take them away from their normal home ground.

nso hosts cricket during summer months and into trial games time frames.

phins playing manly tonight at kayo which has 10k capacity.
no reason at all Bears cant do same for low drawing away team i.e. titans for nso in like a random round ie round 17 or something maybe even around origin 3.

Surely the home game in Sydney would be in high demand though. They brought back the bears to re-engage the lost 220k norths fans. Why play at a ground that could only accommodate 10k?
If this is the case, then I don't see the point of taking a game away from Perth. Norths fans will have multiple games in Sydney to attend.

I wonder how that will work out.
Maybe like the Green Bay packers model? In that model no one person can own more than 4% of the total ownership shares.

Be exciting to have a club genuinely owned by fans, as long as it’s profitable and doesn’t need shortfalls covering!
Do fans of clubs owned by league clubs feel THEY really own the club if they are LC members?

I guess it works when you can get 500,000 stock holders. I don't think it works here, it will be sold to private investors

Considering your track record of being clueless and wrong, I guarantee you it won’t be this model you are proposing.

100% it’ll be privately owned. Whatever nrl is saying now is to get everyone on board but when push comes to shove and the club reaches its 7th year and west Aussie gov no longer invest into pathways rugby league and bears have to then pick up the slack money will talk and it’ll be private investors who actually have the $$ to run a national company that’ll take over.

Don’t think cook has a say on an nrl asset after the nrl chooses to sell their asset and after wa gov concludes its funding to rugby league pathways in the state.. it then becomes open slather for business to those who have the money which means north Sydney bears could buy in.

I reckon the club will end up being 49% public owners and 51% private owned.

What PVL says and what he does can be miles apart at times.
Is any club owned by members? I think souths members are owners but not the majority share.
