1. Edwards
2. Jenkins ( Would have been laughable to suggest a year ago, the try count is nuts, but he is doing plenty more than that)
3. Casey ( Critta likely gone for a while, so a genuine chance)
4. Alamoti (Smokey, but should at least be in the conversation)
5. To'o
6.
7. Cleary
8.
9. Kenny (Doesn't get the flowers he deserves, the guy is an animal)
10. Smith (Not a lock, but should be in consideration)
11.
12. Martin
13. Yeo
14.
15. Leota (Would have played Origin already under the new rules)
16.
17.
McLean won’t get picked unless latrell is injured or suspended but he’s such a good centre now

I read he’s only 19 if that’s true it’s crazy

This will impact their season but they should have enough lead anyway for reserve grade to carry them

Like it hit the broncos back when they basically had an origin side playing for them

We won NSW Cup 40-12 and have a few injuries floating around. So the depth is there but we have our byes in a good spot to cover

Penrith v Newy would be a nice grand final.
If Brisbane finish in the top six Walsh can have a run like last year

Other than them and storm nobody else has much grand final experience so is going to struggle

Dogs and roosters haven’t looked the best but could do something but dogs could miss the eight too

The standard of the games might improve too but it's shit mostly due to the "Refs letting the boys play" aka going back to the 5m rule and sloppy shit

Not sure when you are getting to players 40 for the eligible squads due to injury that the standard would improve much

I’m ok with this.

Why wouldn't you be? First grand final since 2001.

Its a long year. Origin the great evener.

Roosters always improve toward the end of the season. Brisbane did last year too.

Dogs are still going through a slow motion implosion. They don't look good at all and now can't defend which was their cornerstone in 2025. Now they have to call on Xerri who doesn't want to be there anymore. They might get it together but things look ominous for them right now.

Controversial but I think the Cowboys have the biggest room for improvement. Wildly inconsistent but every time I look at their top 30 it looks top 8.

It will be interesting to see how thi iteration of the Panther attack fares on a drizzly/dewey evening mid-winter.

Of course, if you only let in 8 points you are going to win most games.

Injuries are the only thing that stopped them last year and the only thing that'll stopped them this year. They look better now than they ever have but it's Round 5. The team with no injuries at the end of the year wins it.

That is the thing. We are defending well and the different styles of kicks to end the set, Should hold up in the wet

Looking at the draw, and who they're playing twice (home and away), they've got Brisbane (currently 8th), Easts (10th), Parramatta (14th), Melbourne (11th), Canterbury (9th), Canberra (16th), Warriors (5th) and the Tigers (2nd).

Relatively easy draw for them, dare I say?

Some 'experts' had us losing the 1st games when the draw was released but yes let's go with the easy draw.

Actually we do play every team below us on the ladder. So it works
