That is what he will be pushing for but reality will be different.

To get the kind of money he wants, he will need to split it up and over a longer period of time.

Is there the appetite for that from TV?

FTA are pushing for exclusive rights, We saw after the failed rights Dave Smith had what price Foxtel put on Super Saturday.

Say they have just that and nothing else. The high cost of production probably out weighs the benefit of having the rights.

So a lot of these things sound great in theory but NRL aren't ready to handle the production as would be needed to do this anyway.

Or is PVL getting Badel to throw out a figure to get bidders to come up to that FOMO?

Something has changed since Vegas … that’s when the first talk of the $800m a year starting happening … don’t know whether they got told something “off the record “ … but it seems that no one has even put a bid in yet lol ..,

I would doubt these guys are going to bid out of FOMO though … they either think it’s going to suit their direction over the next 5 years or not … I’ve asked the question. … how long does Channel 10 plan on being long way third out of three FTA channels .: what would it take to change that?

That would depend on what Paramount's new owners want from it.

yeah no kidding …I doubt they like running last though

What I mean is they also run Channel 5 in England, like the names says they are the 5th watched over there.

Program format seems very similar to channel 10 here. So that might be where they see the best value for money

Possibly ..; why even go to Vegas then?

Can’t see them handing over control for 17million pound a year.

merging the nrl game pass and SL+ streaming service would make sense and could see a significant uptake if quality is better than current SL+ service. Though that would then devalue the SL ptv deal.
Where’s it say 17 million

The offer was supposed to be 3 million per club

I doubt Paramount paid for the trip, they wouldn't be doing their job to not atleast look at it.

look ..: you and I can go back and forth speculating … neither of us know their intentions … they have said they have an interest … so I’ll take them at face value on that

There wouldn't be an Australian TV network that wouldn't be interested, whether they can afford or want to bid is the question
