New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

You saying this doesn't make it so, it's just leverage, rugby has leverage too as I explained above. Losing a test match to Dunedin because the stadium is giving favourable terms to NZ2 is actually a big deal to Chch. Would NZR do this, it doesn't seem likely, but if NZ2 is playing at near capacity because of cheap tickets, and the Crusaders are at half capacity then they might think

It just seems logical to me that getting an NRL team would trump a few AB games …feel free to take it or leave it though… neither of us are getting a vote at the end of the day

I'll leave it. Your logic is not based on the reality of NZ sport, but I can see how this thread in particular would lead you down that path.

I make up my own mind mate … regardless of what gets posted here by others ..

It’s just plain common sense that your Union bias prevents you from seeing

Logic?
NRL=12 games x 20k =240k
All blacks= 3 games x 25k= 75k

The NRL will bring 3 x the activity to the city as the All blacks.

An NRL club existing full time in Christchurch is going to be 20 million dollars a year just on players and operations directly.

Plus the All blacks are not going anywhere or adding anything additional to the status quo.

So the All blacks essentially will be ADDING very little.
An NRL franchise in Christchurch could bring an additional 100 million dollars into the city.

What's your logic??

I don't have a union bias, as I'm not a fundamentalist like you lot, I like both sports and have since I was a child playing both, but this thread consistently exaggerates both the popularity of league in NZ and the lack of popularity of rugby in NZ.

You need to find a room of mirrors and have a hard look at yourself … Im not gunna say most here are not pro league …what do you expect to find on an RL sure ..: but you are the complete opposite…

My mirror looks fine, like I said I'm not a fundamentalist. I have no problem with posters being pro league and not liking rugby (there's lots of sports I don't like, but I don't want them to fail, even soccer) but it's the bollocks often coming out of this thread that is the issue. If you think I'm the opposite then you haven't really been paying attention to my posts.

You've engaged in this whole discussion merely because I mentioned that rugby should try to get a good deal to ensure better crowds while also stating I want the theoretical NZ2 to get good crowds. 🤣

As I've repeatedly said, I want the NRL to go now with NZ2 while league is on a high in NZ. Delaying it risks a drop in popularity, which history shows is genuinely the norm in NZ with it being very much cyclical.

Actually - You engaged me initially on this latest discussion… because I suggested that the NZ2 should follow the Warrior cheap ticket pricing … and then I expanded on that that by saying this was something they could leverage with the Council who owned the ground …

You always refer back to “the thread” .. who cares about what other people here say ? For some reason it seems to offend you and you need to set someone else ( me ) straight about it ..I don’t gaf what any one else says 😂

The logic is, despite your beliefs otherwise from a trip to the South Island 2 or 3 years ago that may or may not have happened that the ABs are the biggest game in town. Chch and Te Kaha want regular AB matches, they also want a happy Crusaders/CRU as tenants. They're not going to want to piss them off completely for a shiny new team that may or may not have ongoing popularity.

Yep, and I said that NZR would try do the same and you got shirty. Also, I engaged you as I don't think it's easy to discount tickets in a brand new stadium as it is at Mt Smart (I also think the ownership plays a part here too, the Warriors owner seems happy to have smaller returns, we have no idea if a theoretical NZ2 would be the same).

Why bother posting in the thread if we're not allowed to refer to what goes on in the thread?

I’m surprised glory and force haven’t been arcing up about the bears getting g $5.6mill in game day support. I suspect some under that table deals with them have been done as well to keep them happy. I’d imagine similar if nz2 deal is done.
