Merged with Jets bidWhatever happened to the Brisbane Bombers bid?

Perth a non RL market that has previously failedHave to remember nrl reamains a largely conservative decision maker When it comes to expansion.
PNG zero risk due to govt funding,
perth a sydney club brand revival with govt backing reducing any perceived risk.
Best hope for NZ2 is either nztv making it a condition of a bigger future deal or nz govt or private backers coming up with $100mill cash for it. otherwise they’ll likely go with the safer option, sadly.

Long shot on all those things unfortunately.Best hope for NZ2 is either nztv making it a condition of a bigger future deal or nz govt or private backers coming up with $100mill cash for it. otherwise they’ll likely go with the safer option, sadly.
the moment perthwrongs said this ippy bid wasnt much of a chance, it the became red hot favourites. that bloke is so wrong on so many things with anything rugby league related that he literally changes perception to ensure people bet against his takes, as his takes have an almost 0% accuracy rate. this isnt hyperbole this is truth.Long shot on all those things unfortunately.
Only hope is that PVL/Abdo attend the Wahs v Cows game in CHCH and get caught up in the vibe of the new stadium and how it presents on TV. Otherwise NZ2's best opportunity in the next decade or more may have passed it by.
I posted a while ago that greed and ego might hurt NZ2s chances. Too many snouts in the trough meant multiple bids that were invariably going to be weaker than a consolidated effort that brought all potential investors under the same roof.

its mind boggling.
Yea could do. Be a shyte way to enter the comp if it was at the expense of another fanbase though.I wouldn’t give up on the hope for a second Kiwi side completely. It’s inevitable that a few clubs will fall by the wayside as more teams come in.

But even if NZ2 goes on the long term backburner, hopefully that doesn't preclude the NRL supporting local pathway deve
100% there will be more academies etc set up in nz.Yea could do. Be a shyte way to enter the comp if it was at the expense of another fanbase though.

take panthers and dragons out (opposite ends) and the comp is actually closer than people give credit for.It is what it is. The competition can’t really sustain the amount of teams they already have. The competition is so lopsided that teams at the bottom will eventually drop off.

titans been in contests (outside round 1), manly improved, cows improved.
no panthers killing it, no dragons stinking it from equation and theres bugger all splitting the teams really. just moments in games that get the W or L.

that is never going to happen, 10 teams? c'monThere just isn’t enough players for the amount of teams that we have. Strip it back to 10 to 12.

warriors should have shored up home instead of heading to logan, qld for a pathways academy. the moment they did that i think it raised some eye brows. like we get it, plenty talent there in logan/south qld but one imagines just as much in entire nz compared to one city.. just seemed odd and i get the chat that aussie clubs set up shop in nz and scout etc. so warriors are entitled to set up shop in aus and do the same. thats 100% true, no argument there.
just strange though. setting up shop in seqld should have been a long term thing after all or very least majority of nz rl pathways are streamlined. doing it now is kinda conceding that the base in seqld is prime and doesnt need as much work. which is true to be honest but still.
souths got belted by 50 points 2 weeks out of 3 week period in 2021 and still finished top 4 and made a gf.Also 32-0, 52-18 and 50-10 aren’t close

every year teams have off games or periods. on their day any team can beat another.
tigers in 2023 hadnt won a game, faced a full strength panthers and beat them.... teams are better in 2026 overall.
