And if he doesn't look like a superstar, the same posters will be calling him a failure and calling for his head too. Or blaming the coach for playing him too early.
Who are you buddy? A dragons supporter or do you support another team?

We've all seen enough of Reed in NRL trials and KOE cup matches to know that he is better than any other half we have currently, if you were a dragons supporter you'd feel the same way without your snidey smart ass comment.

My rationale is it's easier to keep a player than to attract one over. Surely we will have a fresh face in the coaches box soon and that might start to improve recruitment.

Go to sleep think we might get Fuller/Drinkwater, wake up hearing we lose one/two influential forwards. Typical.

Agree not worth mourning the loss of either but a clean out only works if you bring new, better players in. Trusting our club to do that?
There is a school of thought that Luciano or Sua in the middle may be a revelation.. but I bet they dont want to play there.. and I bet we dont want to pay them the sort of money they are currently on. Personally thats where I would be playing them as the season rolls on.. Egan if he can stay fit is left and Halangahu or Nick on the right later in the year, or a Couchman if needed.

Contractually though.. honestly I'd like both gone... its the 1 spot we have depth.. provided we do wrap up Halangahu and maybe Nick.. oh and the Couchies too are coming up on Nov 1st.. we also need to give the kids lots of game time if we expect them to stay.. this is why im so scared about current situation.. we need the right coach to build hope and exciting for 2027.. cause this losing seems like it may become out new normal for 2026... and recruitment/retention will be a nightmare.

I think the eels will push for him to go this year, have had a lot of injuries to forwards.. perhaps we could get a decent back in return.
If they are willing to give us a usable 7 or 1st grade outside back.. they can have him early.. otherwise they can have him next year when hes a year older.. rly no incentive to let him go early... we wont be able to sign anyone else with the cash.. I mean we still have 2 empty spots as it is.

I'd def be playing Sua in the middle from next week for the rest of the season now!

I don’t think eels have a usable 7. And they would have to want to come

2027 -

Luc, Egan
Stewart

Now sua going and I’m fine with that. He does not deserve a $750k pa 3 year contract. Hence why Parra was the only choice. No roosters fighting for him no Souths etc.

are we after another key edge backrower? Rumour was that we are after Shawn Blore who is only on $450kish pa

Or do we have enough edge backrowrs in house and redirect the $ for greater utility?

Ryan Couchman
Halangahu
Coutts
CSS
Tsougranis
Daniel Meafou

I thought that Lomax left the Eels to try his hand with those rugged rugby union boys ?
I played a few games of rugby in my younger days as a mate of mine convinced me to have a crack as I was playing centre in league. The difference was night and day between the two codes. I could’ve smoked a cigarette as the ball never got past the kick happy 5/8.

I think there’s enough talent in the juniors to not purchase another back rower .
Another Front rower to partner keon while the Couchmans speed as impact off the bench

Since the inclusion of the 6 again rule the blue print of the modern game has changed to a more mobile, young and fit forward pack and a speedy backline to take advantage of it, the exact opposite of the team we have built. I have faith in the young ones coming through, especially Egan, we dropped off a cliff when he got injured last year.
So many things to play out but if I’m being honest, I have no faith in the administration whatsoever. What a shit show we have become

Same here. But one night at training I made the mistake of lining up against the pigs in the lineout and won a lot of ball. The coach "promoted" me to second row and that was a world of pain.
