It is the start but he doesn't change the starting line up

Walker, riley and junior to the bench.
I'm off joash but apa is not fit otherwise i would have apa there

Ronny did as well or better than pezet

He tried hard and didnt over play everything, kept it simple and threw some nice passes. Certainly was better than Pezet, unfortunately with Moses a bit off and Joash throwing silly passes felt like Pezet was there.

So when I got to the Flegg and Cup games I walked straight up to Nathan Cayless who I have know for a while in footy terms.

He spoke about the pass early in the 2nd half from Taylan. If that isn't forward we might have kicked a bit, but we both agreed, the defence is just shit.

f**k me. Just got off a hell flight and checked the score. How f**king awful were they? Watched the 5 min highlight package and they looked like an under 12 team playing against men

‘Well within their right’: Fans rain boos on players as Eels suffer worst home loss in 31 years

Jason Ryles concedes Parramatta fans “are well within their right” to boo his beleaguered side after the worst performance of his Eels coaching tenure and their worst loss on home soil in 31 years.
Sunday’s 52-10 thrashing from the Gold Coast was Parramatta’s heaviest defeat at home since the bad old days of the mid-1990s, when Broncos icon Darren Lockyer made his debut in a famous 60-14 trouncing of the Eels in 1995.

Ryles and captain Mitchell Moses cast despondent figures after leaking nine tries to an improving Titans outfit and the 220 points conceded by Parramatta in six outings (at almost 38 points a game) ranks as the third-most at this point in a season in the NRL era.
The Eels coach is quite literally hamstrung on some personnel fronts by a bulging casualty ward as he lamented the defensive frailties that drew jeers and boos by full-time at CommBank Stadium.
“We just got 50 put on us at our home ground, so the fans are well within their right to be doing that,” Ryles said. “They’re a huge part of what we’re doing and it’s disappointing that we performed like that in front of them.
“I’m not going to blame the injuries. Teams go through those periods in seasons … but right across the board, we just need to get to the bottom of why we lacked that desire today, which I’ve not seen at all from this group in the 18 months that I’ve been here. Not for one second. So that was probably the most disappointing part.”

Interchange forward Sam Tuivaiti will join the likes Jonah Pezet, Isaiah Iongi, J’maine Hopgood, Bailey Simonsson and several others on the sidelines when they play host to Canterbury next Sunday after he suffered a heavy concussion in defence.
Back-rower Kelma Tuilagi was also ruled out by a category one HIA, though Ryles hinted the club may push for a review pending his recovery this week.

The Eels also have room to potentially fit incoming Dragons veteran Jaydn Su’A for the rest of 2026 as well before he takes up a three-year Parramatta deal for next season, though no approach has been made to St George Illawarra yet.

A push for Jaydn Su’A to arrive at the Eels hasn’t been ruled out.

A push for Jaydn Su’A to arrive at the Eels hasn’t been ruled out.
With only outside back Sean Russell returning from injury next week though, Ryles said the fact Parramatta have a third of their top 30 sidelined puts the onus on his senior players rather than the club’s latest batch of promising juniors.
“I’m not going to put young guys in and jeopardise their future,” he said.
“It’s really important they get the reps in at the right level, then make their way through to us… Whoever does come in for those guys that are injured, it’s really important they understand that NRL is a tough business and if you’re not ready to go right from the start, today happens.”
Most galling in the Eels slump to second-last on the ladder were several glaring defensive lapses, none more so than the non-existent kick chase that allowed Gold Coast livewire Keano Kini to engineer a length of the field try just 15 minutes into the contest.

Kini’s five-star showing was just reward for the Kiwi international and coach Josh Hannay, who has nursed him through a crisis of confidence in recent weeks.
“I said this to the kid during the week, I hate to tell this to you bud, but you’re gonna have more bad days in front of you,” Hannay said of the 21-year-old’s outlook on the game.

“It’s all in front of him, you know? So what he’s going through at the moment, he’s had a couple of games where he wasn’t at his absolute best, but his [bounce back] doesn’t surprise us.”
Hannay also noted the Titans growing defensive grit as he bids to turn around almost two decades of mediocrity on the Glitter Strip.
“I think the 50 [points scored], people would associate 50 with this team and not 10 against with this team,” he said.
“But we’re changing our stripes and we’re becoming a grittier defensive footy side.”

Eels booed by fans, grilled by coach after insipid 52-10 loss to Titans

Eels coach Jason Ryles says Parramatta’s fans had every right to boo the team after they slumped to an ugly 52-10 loss at home before dragging his players across the coals.

Eels coach Jason Ryles says Parramatta’s fans had every right to boo the team after they slumped to an ugly 52-10 loss at home on Sunday afternoon as their horror injury list grew worse with a couple of head knocks.
Parramatta has conceded 226 points through the opening six rounds – the most in the NRL this season – with the blue and golds picked apart with ease by Gold Coast’s speedy backs.
The result leaves them in 16th spot, with their fans voicing their displeasure when the full-time siren sounded at CommBank Stadium.

“We just got 50 put on us at our home ground, so the fans are well within their right to be doing that. They’re a huge part of what we’re doing and it’s disappointing that we performed like that in front of them,” Ryles said.
“It’s really disappointing. I didn’t see it coming. (There were) some not really good signs there.”
To make matters worse, Sam Tuivaiti and Kelma Tuilagi both suffered head knocks that will rule them out of their next game against the Bulldogs.
The Eels have already lost J’maine Hopgood, Matt Doorey and Bailey Simonsson to season-ending injuries, while key spine members Jonah Pezet and Isaiah Iongi will also be sidelined for a few more weeks.
“It’s certainly a challenge,” Ryles said.

“Whenever you get a third of the way through your list, it’s always going to put pressure on performances. But at the same time, it creates opportunity.
“Today for me was disappointing from the point of view that the spirit wasn’t there. Last week (against the Tigers) I saw some fight that I’d never seen before, and then this week I didn’t see it.
“Some individuals made some decisions that hopefully they wouldn’t make again, so that’s something that we need to get to the bottom of really quickly.
“Whoever does come in for those guys that are injured, it’s really important they understand that NRL is a tough business, and if you’re not ready to go right from the start, today happens.
“I’m not going to blame the injuries (for what happened). They’re there, and teams go through those periods in seasons, but when you get your opportunity, you need to take it.
“Right across the board, we just need to get to the bottom of why we lacked that desire today, which I’ve not seen at all from this group in the 18 months that I’ve been here. Not for one second. So that was probably the most disappointing part.”
NRL: The Gold Coast Titans have flogged the Parramatta Eels in their round 6 clash.

KINI THE KILLER

It’s crazy to think there was ever such a lengthy debate over who should be the Titans fullback after Keano Kini produced arguably his finest 80 minutes in the NRL to help Gold Coast heap more misery on the wounded Eels who were booed at full-time.
Kini had a hand in his side’s first four tries as the Titans secured a very rare win in Sydney with a 52-10 victory at CommBank Stadium to record their second-highest NRL score.
Josh Hannay made it clear from the moment he took over as coach that Kini was his number one option at fullback, and the pint-sized speedster repaid the faith with video game numbers after a tough few weeks where his hands let him down.

“I said this to the kid during the week, ‘I hate to tell this to you bud, but you’re going to have more bad days in front of you’,” Hannay said.
“It’s all in front of him. So what he’s going through at the moment, he’s had a couple of games where he wasn’t at his absolute best, but I don’t know if you’re watching footy at the moment because there are a lot of fullbacks under a lot of pressure with the high ball.”
Kini set up all three of their first-half tries including a stunning spin move for AJ Brimson to score, while it was his long-range break off a kick that ended up with rookie winger Sialetili Faeamani to make it 18-0 after 15 minutes.
The fullback then burst through the middle to set up Jayden Campbell early in the second half, with Kini finishing the afternoon with 226 metres, four assists, four line-breaks and nine tackle busts.
He wasn’t the only one who produced some magic in attack with Jojo Fifita scooping up a loose ball and then linking up with Phil Sami who finished off a cracking 85-metre try, while Campbell plucked an intercept to put the cherry on top.

DEFENSIVE WOES

The Eels have slumped to second last after six rounds and boast the worst defence in the NRL this season after they leaked nine tries and missed 43 tackles against a team that hasn’t looked great in attack.
The blue and golds have conceded 226 points already this season with both edges and their middle exposed by Gold Coast.
It’s a major concern for coach Jason Ryles who would have been filthy with the ease in which Cooper Bai barged his way to the line from close range in the second half.
Their attack wasn’t much better, with their first try coming off what looked to be a forward pass as their fans let out a chorus of boos as the visitors reached 50.

INJURY CRISIS

Parramatta’s injury crisis has worsened with powerhouse forwards Sam Tuivaiti and Kelma Tuilagi set to miss their next game after they both had head knocks on Sunday afternoon.
The Eels are already without J’maine Hopgood, Matt Doorey and Bailey Simonsson for the season, while Isaiah Iongi and Jonah Pezet headline the list of other stars currently on the sidelines.
Tuivaiti had only been on for about 10 minutes when his head cannoned into Arama Hau’s hip as he tried to make a tackle, with the bench prop immediately ruled out.
“Whenever you get a third of the way through your list, it’s always going to put pressure on performances, but at the same time, it creates opportunity,” Ryles said.
“I’m not going to blame the injuries (for how we played).

I can tell you why the players lack desire.. they dont care. They know that they will be in first grade again next weekend and their pay check will keep coming.

Now we are signing SuA is he going to be the same? Or actually buy in?

With regards to the defence, someone show the players a video of last nights Warriors game and look at those players last night. Melbourne threw a lot at the Warriors but they were so committed and never panicked, they talked to each other in defence, slid across and they didnt just tackle, they absolutely monstered the Storm players. That shows you how committed they are and thats how you bloody tackle!!. The defence lately is just absurb, the A Grade Rhinos team wouldve saved more tries today.

This isn’t a joking matter, mate. We’re in the trenches together.

Worse loss i can remember in my years of following the Eels mate. That was disgusting .
Moses the captain returned 5kgs overweight. Jnrs is 10kgs overweight. Our leaders. Questions must be asked. Putrid at home with season on line to dish that out. Im gutted.

Yep at this stage he just needs to cut out the hero plays from his game

Ryles has to decide. Is he the guy or is Riley.
I love Riley's effort but he is never going to be elite. TDS shoes glimpses of elite and dogshit. He isn't mid 20s he is basically rookie so back him to come good. Giving him 20mins a game is rubbish (bar today)

This year is a absolute f**king disaster. I don’t know if we can turn it around. We almost need a full rebuild.

Walker and JAC are great but they are both slowing. Neither are at their peaks. JAC is fast but not like he was. Walker just can't tackle and nobody calls him out. His defense is shit. Unsure why you start a defensive liability. Usualy you keep them on the bench if they are attacking weapons and inject them when the opposition look tired. It's odd coaching mostly becuase it worked before. So why change it? The bench was set. It worked. Tuivati and Walker provided impact as did Doorey who Morreti has replaced which is or was his equal untill this season.

Moses has come back fat and what 32? He had a few good origin games when the forward pack went nuts. Luai looked just as good. Done nothing since 2022 bar that and a few good passes here and there. That's almost 4yrs ago. But we laugh at Tommy Turbo.Atleast when Tom plays its a 8/10 nearly every game

Jnr - 5-10kgs overweight. Our leader. With a fairly silly hair cut.

Kelma and Kk have atleast trimmed down but both are inconsistent and on average poor. A good game is 1 brain fart. We are conditioned to think thats excellent. Usually both give you 2 or 3 a game with one flash of brilliance and guys some on here think they elite.
Neither can defend, both lazy and poor kick chase. In other words useless.
And you have to question why are our talented Juniors are regressing. Penisini is a shadow of his promise, Morretti looks basically done. Both burst into the scene and had so much daw talent.
Then you target De Bellin to save you. He is almost 40 and runs like an old mole. What other club would of signed him..None. Nobody wanted him.

What the f**k are they doing to our club.

I am still behind Ryles but I am seeing cracks and they are getting wider by the week. If he doesn't fix them soon then his ship will sink.

That's when we got to go for WALLACE.
