What they were planning before Redcliffe threatened legal action had more personality than what they ended up with.

Teal, orange and white at least would have been unique, versus the blue and white (with a tiny bit of gold) they went with in the early years.

Yeah, no idea why they went away from these colours with the Titans rebrand. The colours would still have worked.
Also, running this as a heritage would have more to do with the current GC franchise then resorting to Chargers too. As iconic? Not in the slightest. But it wouldn't look so much like a brand with next to no identity falling back on a failed brand with nothing to do with the current franchise outside of shared location for an identity nostalgia hit because the chargers had more, "aura" then the Titans have ever achieved.
At least this would be a heritage of their bid.

But yeah, in general, bringing this colourway back fulltime or, if it is seen as the better option, adopting the Chargers colourway would be the go imo instead remaining Parra lite.
And as someone else pointed out, the Warriors and Panthers have rebranded colours in the past so maybe this is the perfect time and opportunity for the Titans.

I think it would be pretty interesting to see every Titans home and away jersey in their history recoloured as both GC Dolphins and GC Chargers colours to see which comes out better overall.

Nothing says South Sydney more than a white and grey jersey
To be fair the only thing you see in that jersey is the bright MG logo thanks to using clour splash.

Any time you can celebrate a foreign state owned car company's contribution to anzac day you have to take it.

IMO the only past jersey worth looking at is the 2007 jumper. I think it goes really well!

I only really suggested "all" for a large sample size and to see a lot of different applications. But if we were being selective I would add, on top of your suggestion of the original, the 2014/15 Home and away and 23/24 Home and 23/24/25 away. At a stretch someone could argue to add 21/22 home but I think 23/24 basically streamline and improved the idea behind that design.

But yeah as for your sample, definitely on the right track I reckon.

No idea why they changed the colours from this. Titans with these colours would've been a whole lot better than what they opted for.

If they replaced the white (which feels like it was a tokenistic choice anyway) with orange, so the Titans colours were aqua, yellow and orange, their uniforms would 'pop' a whole lot more.

I haven't seen this posted up yet: Newcastle's 2026 ANZAC jersey (almost the same as last year's).

The Broncos and Dolphins team-list email and x-post each Tuesday pictures the players wearing the jersey to be worn on that round - they don't actually explicitly say it though. I thought the Panthers used to post it somewhere as well, but can't find it. Baby steps to a full season kit schedule!

Penrith's teamlist article used to explicitly say it, but now they do similar to Broncos and Dolphins above and have the jersey colour feature in their teamlist post on social too:

my memory is they were a bit spooked by the GC17 AFL bid (ended up being the Suns) and it was a bit of a race to establish the club before AFL supposedly came in and took over.

I suspect Gold Coast being the beach surf lifestyle, the titans would have thought if we don’t claim the sand/surf branding, the AFL will do it and we’ll forever kick ourselves.

I guess slightly backing up this memory is that the Suns chose red and yellow as the colours of Surf Life Saving flags…which was a stretch and probably a poor decision from them too
