Next coach sacked 2026

Hannay surely is in the 'Needs about 6 straight losses to have any questions asked' category and not so close to the likes of Rules and Woolfe right?

He's 2-4 with a team that was 0-6 after their first six games under Des & came last and second last in the past two seasons.

Throw in how they've been competitive in 3 of the 4 losses (Leading at the 71st min against the Phins, behind only by 6 until the 61st minute against Cowboys and only behind by 2 after the first 40 against the defending premiers) and I feel he is pretty safe for now.

Hannay will also have a lot longer rope as he's in the first year of his tenure. That's why Flanagan is the one on the hot seet, he's been at the Dragons for 3 years and they've gone backwards, and are now on a 10 straight game losing streak extending back to 2025.

Wasn’t there supposed to be a board review/meeting at the Dragons this week?

Surely it doesn’t take long to unanimously agree to fire the bloke?

How much $$$?

Might be kept on longer to avoid a huge pay out. Especially if there is no obvious replacement.

The dumb thing was Flannagan was under contract for 2026. In August last year, the Dragons gave him a 2 year extension. So if they sacked him now unilaterally, they'd be looking at a 2 1/2 year payout.

Seibs got his extension too.

I'd like to think Manly had a payout plan. They are good at sacking coached mid-term.

Put that useless bald headed idiot Todd back to top of the list .
He is clueless .
he got a reprieve due to playing a Storm team that has never gone this bad .
A broncos team with no halves and hookers .
We beat a Dragons team which is like beating up the cripple kid .
and the Titans who are either Rocks or diamonds..we played the Rocks team .
Soon as we play a decent team we are shown up .
more importantly Todd is shown up .
please get rid of him .

Todd's seat was starting to cool down. He's just warming the seat up for winter.

Todd probably sees out the season now, but it's gotta be finals or else. Possibly even win a finals game or else.

Whilst the Cowboys were poor last night, Payten has banked a little bit of credit which will keep him employed at the Cowboys for a bit longer.

Flanagan is still the clear cut, out right favourite by a couple of lengths of the straight in my opinion.

Knowing the Dragons and in light of Flannos recent extension, my money is on Payten.
It’s a roughy but I’m locking it in.
Hear me out.
will cost them big coin to sack him.
no obvious replacement.
joint venture that has to have both sides of the board and owners
to agree to a) paying $$$$ and b) replacement.
That doesn’t happen fast in dragons land. 2 owners remember.
Flanno is gone end of season

My guess is they are definitely considering sacking him and he knows it
but they would prefer they did not need to to save money and also they aren’t able to agree on who replaces him

Dean Young was an interim coach at the Dragons following Mary's sacking. He got two wins out of six. The problem for Young is he is part of the coaching staff as an assistant. How can he separate himself from Flanagan to be the next head coach? Dragons have lost 11 in a row. One would argue that Young also needs to be held to account as well.

How about sacking him before he does more damage to the club. So players in the nsw cup have something to strive for.

Val Holmes has been the worst player in the nrl this season and he's always there, dropping balls and missing tackles. I know the saints have nothing behind him because Flanagan is useless but make an example of this useless player.

.

Anzac Day results with Flanagan as Saints coach.

2024 Chickens 60 - Saints 18
2025 Chickens 46 - Saints 18

What's the bet this year will be the worst result of the three for the saints. Flanagan, worst Anzac Day coach in history.
