And if Marto can get a good deal somewhere we might want to look at moving him a year early if it means keep Nathan and others.
Obviously only if Liam is up for it

Emotionally Chins I don't want this to happen. (I know I live in Wonderland, a place just off fairyland)

In my 'emotional' world. All players take unders to stay including Martin. I am determined to hold unto that fairytale, until I can't.

Blokes like Paps and Leota coming out and saying they want to stay bodes well (I believe) for them re signing for under market value. I hope (and pray) yes pray with all my heart that this type of thinking within the team continues.

I know it's an emotional take, but that's where I'll be at the moment.

Even if a couple stay for unders that will do my blackened Penrith heart good.

Paul Alamoti, Nathan Cleary, Sione Fonua, Mitch Kenny, Moses Leota, Liam Martin, Isaiah Papali'i, Luron Patea, Billy Scott, Blaize Talagi, Brian To'o, Isaah Yeo

Thats the full list of top 30 players off contract next year. In my personal opinion and being brutally honest the only players that we must resign are alamoti, cleary, leota, ipap, bizza and yeo

He’s my favourite player but big Moses’ production is going to drop off. What a next contract looks like at Penrith needs to be carefully considered.

For me, same with Yeo and same with Bizza. Question mark around Martin.

All adds up (for me) the importance of Ipap as a resigning.

Yeo and To'o deliver in 99% of games while Martin is maybe a 50% guy

Marto drifts in and out of games and even entire seasons. He is an animal especially defensively, but is at the odd part of his career where his hard playing style has meant he is becoming injury and error prone.

In Ivan's coaching systems having a barnstorming Elite 2nd rower is not that important, as our success post Kikau has proven. If we happen to have or develop one, it is merely a 'bonus'. Even in his 1st stint as Panther coach he'd often 'Money ball' the position using players like Matt Robinson, Ryan Simpkins and Docker or other clubs discards like Plum.

IC 2.0 then money balled Capewell, Sorenson and now Garner. All we need in the position is someone who is 'capable' and willing to buy in the Panthers System and training regime.

So just like Chins and others have said, if Marto wants to chase maximium $$$, we'd have to let him go.

Probably the top priority will be to offload Tago ASAP.

We all love our veteran players but we have to also look at phasing out Yeo, Edwards and To'o. Yeo has had a long career and played a very physically demanding position for most of it. I use to think Larry was his replacement but he is perhaps too big. To me Billy Scott seems to be the guy who'll make it.

Edwards and To'o I am not sure what we will do. Both are exceptionally physical for their positions and won't last. Winger is another position that IC is not keen on spending big $$$ and just like 2nd row seems to know how to money ball to develop a cheap and effective option.

Fullback is the biggest concern - it looks like we don't have anyone on the horizon who could come close to Edwards, but Edwards is also an injury or two away from being a shadow of his former self.

Surely Edwards has another 2-3 good years in him. Even if no one is quite ready yet to take over now in that time someone will be. As for Yeo, Cleary and TO’O they are no brainers to keep even Moses on a reduced contract.

Alamoti , Blaize and Milky are also in the clubs plans you would hope. So like most on here it would be likely Martin and Kenny would be the easiest to replace and hopefully Tago‘s contract will be taken up elsewhere to free funds.

Marto is a very good player i think his impact is underrated here a bit, that being i have noticed everytime we have someone binned his makes a mistake or gives away a penalty next chance he gets.

Fullback is only a short term worry imo, one these kids has to pan out surely. In the short term Edgar physically looks unlikely but by all reports hes doing well in cup particularly defensively, i think he will get called up if needed.

Edwards is the best FB in the comp by a mile - our upcoming FBs would need to be NRL ready and dominant to unseat Dylan

He’s not been doing much in Canberra
I was talking to a Raiders fan yesterday, he said Laurie should be playing halfback for the Raiders and was awesome in the trials. But Ricky wants a Raiders junior in the position. He reckons Laurie is doing well in NSW cup and is too good for that competition. He thinks Ricky’s biases are holding the Raider’s back.

Laurie most certainly shouldn't be starting at halfback in the NRL

IDK, the are some real nuffy halfbacks and a bunch of makeshifts in the NRL right now. Probably half the NRL halfbacks right now are natural 5/8's

Laurie has the skills (other than long kicking), I was honestly a bit surprised and disappointed that Ivan didn't see him as an option for the #6 role when Luai left. I can only assume that Ivan believed he was too small to hold up defensively or valued him more as fullback/wing cover.

Ricky can’t really want a raiders junior as Sanders is a Parramatta junior and Strange is a Roosters junior

Daine Laurie should of went to St George. Better than any Fullback and probably Half Backs that's on their books.
Would be a regular fixture. Better defender than Slippery Sloane.
