There’s two recent people commenting on this thread that joined up purely to repost stuff they get upset about on another forum

imagine being that bored that you have to make an account on a sport you don’t like and pretend to like such sport just to get content to repost elsewhere

It’s funny now league is dominating you see people putting in this kind of effort

NRL 1 game

that is all
If the AFL can't secure a massive win in primetime on a Friday night with two games featuring four teams targeting four sets of fanbases and multiple states, there's something wrong with fumbleball. The ratings and codings may also change slightly due to extended slot times running into post game shows.

Interesting that the NRL pre-game also beat the AFL pre-game, given that the AFL pre-game was in the earlier slot and was shorter, meaning it could retain a bigger chunk of the news audience.

Basically, another win for the NRL in all demographics.

Afl can’t get a Friday night win with their targeted approach of their big Sydney derby beamed live into nsw and another game beamed into other states.

Nrl casually beats it with a single game in Darwin featuring a Sydney team with fewer supporters than most other Sydney teams and an expansion club that’s a few years old.

you’d be worried if you were fumble HQ. It looks like these days it takes an FLA blockbuster game, or two of them in a double header, to try and beat an NRL game - which seems to happen now only on the rare occasion.

There was a lightning delay at the SCG which lasted more than an hour at half time. This would explain viewers changing channels.

It wasn't really two games, there was only one game broadcast into each market.
The Cats v Dogs match was a fizzer with the home side building an insurmountable lead early in the game.
The Swans v Giants derby was a great spectacle played in front of a sold out SCG. Unfortunately, lightning near the field caused a lengthy delay at half time which impacted ratings. I switched over to watch the 2nd half of Dolphins v Panthers which went into Golden Point. Many NSW viewers may have done likewise.

Only if it was Collingwood vs Carlton then it would’ve outrated league Origin

No idea why that fumble fan believes a Collingwood vs Carlton grand final would outrate anything. Victorians and wasteland states will be watching the grand final anyway regardless of teams. Just nsw and qld wouldn’t bother. AFL makes sure for this very reason that there’s a Sydney or Brisbane team always in the grand final because if not their grand final wouldn’t hit the 4m mark.
