At least we made a game of it for 40 minutes. Can't be too harsh on the lads today. Missing many important players and we got to remember we were the wooden spooners last year. We would have lost that 60-0 under AOB. Not saying I'm happy with the second half but there's plenty to look forward to I reckon.

We were poor in the 2nd half and showed none of the resilience like we did defensively in the 1st but f**k me it’s nearly impossible to compete with the speed of the play the balls Klein was giving them. I get they were winning the ruck but they were playing touch footy from the 45th to the 75th minute.

Lol comon man, that had little to do with Klein. We got monstered and has zero control of the ruck

As along standing Eels supporter, you are seeing ehat the issue is with a player like Dylan Brown, has all the tools necessary to play as a defensive, running 5/8 but someone doesn’t appear to have the drive to be consistently great. Good games , then like yesterday he seems to disappear, with all that talent hope you can unlock it .

Next week rest Sharp, Hunt to f/b and McCarthy centre
I heard Slater say he had the same injury as Sharpe and it's a pain thing. Not something that'll get worse. Hopefully Sharpe gets over it quickly. We need him at his best. He was no where in defense yesterday.

Walsh had a similar injury last season and looked much the same. Got better as the year went on but it definitely hindered him early

I think Brown and KP are similar in that they're both in need of a second play maker to truly excel. Brown on his own still lifts our floor.

Anyone blaming Brown today is no better than the gutter journos at the telegraph who zone in on a star after a loss. The middle lost it and if that is what we get with Sharpe injured, we're betting giving him a week or two and bringing in McCarthy. We're just not good enough to carry a spine player at 50%.

It comes with the territory when you’re on $1.3m a season.
I wouldn’t say Brown lost the game for Newcastle but he Sharpe and Graham were involved in the 3 biggest momentum swings.
With Newcastle struggling for field position all game…one of the few times they got into the Roosters’ half, Brown kicks the ball away with tackles in hand.
Even if he forced a repeat set.. it’s a bit of a lottery with the short dropout especially up against Tupou and Marky Mark

And the only other time we had momentum in the second half after a half break and quick PTB he put up an ineffective chip bomb on the last that AOB would have loved. Absolutely needed to be better in those key moments.

Brown is no different to any other half with his forwards getting owned. It is rich to assign blame to him after a month off. Our first half was great. A vast difference to last year.
