I would say they know...just not wanting to announce at presser...Does it mean that Young is interim and they don't want to cop more Flack....I really hope it isn't Young.

They also could be talking to Haran's replacement...Hop fully they bring richo in....

Positives...Both Flanno & Haran are Gone.
It's Monday morning, so i took it as they hadn't yet informed the players and other staff who they had appointed and wanted to advise them first

OK, no dancing on the grave folks, just let the man disappear off into retirement satisfied he is a premiership winning coach. It just did not work out. I wish him and his family well. Well done to the club for also seeing Haran out the door. There are green shoots appearing and this next appointment is super critical. Today's call should also see Kyle Flanagan eased out of the conversation as well. All in all, a very good day for the club.

Good post. I too was concerned for SFlan. The pressure was enormous. I wish him well.

Kyle still being in the team could possibly cause some conflict, until the dust settles and a new coach comes in.
The players might be a little reserved on their thoughts of Shane Flanagan so not to cause unrest with Kyle, like it or not at the moment he is their team mate.

Players can't really speak freely like say Manly could of the coach that just got sacked.
If anyone does say something about Shane, could cause conflict.

Hopefully the players are just supportive to Kyle, move on and everyone is happy.

That could be true but at a time when the club is possibly at its lowest point ever optics are important. It came across more like we're making it up as we go along.
Lancaster came across as an arrogant twat who didn't want to answer questions directly and was blaming media coverage on personal agendas.

I thought they handled it well. He shut Weidler down well.

I thought Watsford was fine, even if reading from a prepared statement, his face at looked like it was reflecting the gravity of the situation. I think he will be working diligently to get us moving forward.
Lancaster looked and spoke like he was annoyed to have been called down from his ivory tower to talk to the peasants.

Happy that SF is gone, its been more than a few weeks overdue.

Ecstatic that Haran is also gone. The one common denominator in our last 15yrs has been this leach.

No announcement of replacement is not unexpected given it's a full Board decision, they meet tomorrow. FWIW the mail is they are still split on appointing DY.
Maybe Watford's invisibility over the last couple of weeks was him working on the full time replacement.

In any case let the healing begin, but be aware there's still danger lurking.

Could we have a welfare check on some of the apologists? These people to this day, still haven't explicitly acknowledged that Flanagan needs to be sacked, despite their regular efforts over the past 12-24 months to derail this thread:

@maestro1 - are you okay?
@InFlannoWeTrust - how about you big fella?
@mattw5 - Hi mate, please advise.
@Sage63 - just checking in 🙂
@redVinme - how you doing there sport?
@Dragonslayer - just wondering after 11 consecutive losses, are win loss ratios still myopic at best, champ?
@Kolum Kid - just wondering if there's any value to be added here for you? 🙂
@Unsainty79 - any danger?

Plus everyone else who hasn't voted to sack Flanagan immediately in the survey on this forum, pull your heads in ya Muppets!!

They could be making it up as they go along or they may simply be reacting to what people have been saying for some time. Either way, this is not what I call management. The club remains effed.

How on earth do they come to a press conference like this and not have a choice made on an interim coach.? Amateur hour. Lancaster was thoroughly unimpressive in that press conference, avoiding questions and blaming the media. Part of the problem.

Now this is pure speculation on my part, but could it be that they have made up their mind on whom they want it to be, but said person has to check with another employer to see if they could get out of that contract to take on the job, full time, at least until season's end? If so it could be Ennis (e.g. having to get out of his Fox Sports gig), or Hornby (having to get out of his Souths contract)? It could be someone beyond those two, but that's why I suspect no announcement as yet about an interim coach.

I mean how embarrassing would it be if they announced "[person x] will be our coach for the rest of 2026" and [person x] didn't take the job?

Like the situation post-Mary... I assume any appointment of Dean as interim would also need a caveat around Craig possibly taking a leave of absence from any official duties (be it the St George Board and/or any other roles/responsibilities he has with respect to the footballing department)?

I'm also not opposed to Talau taking over the top job as interim, or at least becoming Senior Assistant to Ennis, with Dean taking the reins for NSW Cup for the rest of the year. This would actually be real and further change (especially given Dean has been part of the make up since day one under Flanagan).
