Looking at our votes this week, I'm wondering if the Dally Ms will make a special exemption so they can give Ford 12 points?

I'll abstain from voting as while I did watch the game, it was in a social setting with mates after more than a few drinks and we were about 20 minutes delayed so there was some minor fast-forwarding to catch up. The God honest truth is I didn't have a single thought about Ford until I started reading these votes, the main stand out for me was how crisp some of our attack was on the edges (before the team clocked off for the last 20 minutes).

I still reckon it's bizarre how Boyd isn't getting more Dally M points - not necessarily because he deserves them all things being equal, but because as a general rule a halfback playing as well as he is in a winning team gets bulk points.

He's been far from perfect of course, but so was Metcalf last season. The way Boyd has risen to the challenge, especially given he plays such a dominant role in kicking and running the attack, has arguably been even more impressive to me than 2025 Metcalf.

I mean, he's no Jackson Ford...

Im with you @vvvrulz
But my destain for the Dally Ms started when one of the judges being Ruan Simms totally made them lose all credibility.

I think she was a Dally M judge for an Eels v Roosters back about 2018 or 2019 and gave her 3,2,1s out and gave 2 points to a player who played about 7 minutes before being carted off with an HIA.

Everyone called her out on it and she later admitted than she didnt even watch the game as she was playing a game of footy herself at the same time and just winged it with the points.

Lost all credibility for me in the judging.

I can’t imagine Ford is following it now that the tallying of points has exceeded the number of his fingers and toes

Come on fellas, fwiw a Warrior is leading, but more importantly he genuinely is playing incredibly well, well beyond anything anybody (I think) expected from him...

I do feel for Boyd a bit in those contexts, who has also been really good (again, genuinely good but also much better than anyone thought he'd be).

Payne Haas is out for at least 6 weeks including Origin 1.
Theres a very real possibility Ford gets selected and Barnett picked again.

There's so much middle ground between "not NRL standard" and "leading the Dally Ms". It's just bizarre Ford (who is, bottom line, the donkey-work man in the middle and is not performing magic tricks out there) has immediately bypassed the middle ground as soon as he strings some good games together. It's like he is God's chosen one and the whole world is waiting for him to do anything good so they can lavish praise on him.

If nothing else it certainly creates a very funny narrative for this forum!

I had Ford at 2 points- but FFS, another 80 minutes. And so unnecessary. That just means less minutes for Vaimauga or Clark or Stowers Smith (next week).
I was thinking that during the game but then I saw Clark’s post match interview - he said that Jacko shouldering so much workload elevates all the other guys who don’t have such freakishly huge motors and lets them go at 100% when they’re on the field. Hes actually a big part of why we’re not getting any drop in forward intensity with the interchange.
