3- Ford. 228m plus 48 tackles leaves less for others to do..
2- CHT. Dynamite in first half when we did the damage
1- Dallin. Thought he was outstanding tonight. Huge heart

HM: Leka, Barney, Clark, Leaitaua, Roger, Boyd were all decent

REally tough to pick this week.

3 Boyd. Looked calm and controlled on attack and was really solid in defense, He and Ali combined pretyy well on that edge.
2 Ali. I think his most engaged 80 mins I've seen from him. Some bone rattling tackles as well.
1. Ford. For the work rate without errors.

HM. CHT, JFH, DWZ, AKP and some other poor blokes with only one surname. Capewell and Barnett were both good on return. CNK was busy but there were some errors.

DM. None

Didn't like that we lost the second half. Thats a big work on!!

pretty hard to single anyone out
good to get the win but that second half was pretty painful err guess there was a real tailwind to be a classic game of 2 halves...?
3 CHT
2 Laban
1 Clark
bad call no Tuaupiki at FB lost that zip ...

Watched it late, overseas.

3- CHT
2- Barnett
1- Ford

HM- Ali, AKP

I had Ford at 2 points- but FFS, another 80 minutes. And so unnecessary. That just means less minutes for Vaimauga or Clark or Stowers Smith (next week).

3 - Jacko - have to give the lollies to Ford - he was immense the entire game. Usually he has a 10-15 minute period where his hitups get weak, but not this game. And he even put himself in a position to almost stop a try in the corner late in the second half
2 - Boyd - elite first half, did the best he could second half with our limited possession and field position - I’m also really enjoying his defensive efforts so far this year
1 - Barnett - strong return from injury

HMs - RTS - he’s looking like the centre we hoped he’d be in 2024 - surely there’s no way Pompey can just walk back into the side next week?
DWZ and AKP - both had really good games, imo
Ali - thought he had a good game - my only gripe is that he has a tendency to crab across field looking to open up space in sets in our end when we really just need him to put his head down, fight for a few metres and suck in 3 or 4 defenders
CHT - another strong game - notice he came off again with about 5 to go. Wonder why? Is it just a case of having an unused interchange that Webby figures he might as well use, or other injury/head knock concerns?
EDIT: Meant to give Egan an HM too, had another strong game

Could’ve also given HMs to Clark and Leka - liked how Leka went looking for work, even if he’s still learning how to run into space rather than into contact

Happy that Webby used Laban off the bench rather than Niukore. Laban is the future, and already a much better defender

The wind played a huge role in this one. Had to have been the strongest wind at Mt Smart in several years

On CNK - always gives 110%, but made a poor error in the second half and looked absolutely gassed in that last 10, and was just running around sticking arms out rather than attempting actual tackles

I was impressed last night. He’s fast and he looks busy and hungry. Didn’t notice any defensive issues and the one kick he dropped was a very difficult take.
Fair enough. You'd hope he would be busy and hungry, it's about sustaining that week to week. I honestly don't think Webby will pick him next week though.

3 Ford - how could you not.
2 JFH - set the tone early for the rest of the team and came back on with Clark to put the game beyond doubt.
1 Clark - getting back to his pummeling best.

HMs - CHT, AKP, Dallin, Barnett, Roger, Boyd, Leka, Egan.

Ali was good but like Izz said, just straighten your hitups boy, not this sideways shit like Kosi used to do. Also, he doesnt do his share of the work when the forwards are looking for a breather. It was quite noticeable when both were on the field that Roger was doing the hard yards from dummy half and Ali was MIA. so he has a few work ons still.

I hope that Ford has a good masking agent for his juice. Just kidding of course, but his turnaround in form might be the greatest ever. He should be given the largest most improved trophy the Warriors can find.

Here's hoping he continues to prove me and his other doubters wrong.

3 - Ford, great yardage and effort
2 - Boyd, controlled the game esp in the 1st half
1 - JFH, his leadership and play this year is lifting the team

3. Ford - turned in a Steve Price type night which is ridiculous. He's a "good" prop when he keeps the mistakes down, but yesterday was quite elite.
2. Boyd - starting to remind me of Twilight Johnson in '23, steering our line and controlling field position easily
1. Leiataua - far better than Pompey, couple of massive breaks and mongrel on defence

HMs Dallin I thought really had a dash, AKP sharp & hungry with excellent finishing
Barney, Leka, Clarke and Fish rounded off another dominant night

We're turning in a lot of well-rounded team performances which I love.

CNK was the only blemish, lots of effort but constantly looks gassed.
Mistakes happen but that knock-on fielding a regulation kick was very sloppy and turned momentum.

TT is playing much better.

I thought that was a pretty solid game. Even when the Titans came back into it, I felt we still controlled the game.

The defensive weaknesses are masked/hidden at the moment with the effective rush defence in the middle. SJ gave a good explanation on his show. I've been impressed with the complexity of his analysis. Its a reference back to the days of Sterlo!

3. Ford
2. Boyd
1. DWZ

RE CNK, was OK. That dropped kick was bad luck. The point of the ball struck him in the shoulder. Anybody who has played wing or fullback, knows you can't really catch that.
