No way that would stuff up Origin.

You wouldn't have the same atmosphere. I'm sure plenty of people go to the game in Sydney. They will feel robbed if this happens.

Just heard that the Western Top deck will not be opened for Origin one, due to poor sales.

Has this been the case in previous years, ??

i remember going in either 2000 or 01 (cant remember now) when the capacity was 110000.

it pissed down rain like never before and the crowd was still 88,000

I hope he is mate, but wouldn't it make sense for ANZ to be organising staff, bar staff, catering, security etc. At the moment, therefore they would be making a judgement call on the numbers needed. And the areas they will be opening.

If ticket sales boom over the next few days they can change it,

If one of the teams only ever had one game you may aswell give up the series , as that team will basically never win.

Totally agree - its like that world club challenge thing that played in england every freaking year, and the nrl team hardly ever wins.

I’m going to the game. I’ve got seats on Level 1. I have only sat in Level 6 for one match and I will never do it again. The viewing is too high and too far away for me. I’d rather stay to home and watch the game on TV instead of watching the stadium TV screen for the entire match,

Had the option of tix on half way in the nosebleed section, or in line with the sideline @ the end of the field on level one when brought last week.

Took the worse view as.

A) Players look tiny up there.
B) Its f**king scary!

Once Newcastle gets a stadium with a capacity approaching 40k I think it would be worth taking the second NSW game up to the Hunter.

That would result in only one game in Sydney while still preserving home ground advantage. It would also be a worthy reward to a Rugby League-mad part of the state. It's worth remembering it isn't Sydney v Brisbane.

At the moment 26k isn't big enough for an Origin match, but I can see a day when taking Origin to Newcastle makes sense.
