Raiders fans also putting in a fine exhibition in this very thread when it comes to discussing Mick Weyman.

true, but 5 years of waiting for brittle mick to get this sh*t together has frustrated canberra fans. All the talent in the world, traped inside a giant cream puff
hoping bennett can get him sorted as if he does can garentee you he'll be back in green in 2 seasons

Haha...very true. As mentioned before everyone loves to play down the players that leave their club. Makes them feel better i guess. I know the Raiders have done it with Zillman before Weyman.

me personally whilst i'll get over Shillo im still feeling the effect of losing Toops. I still beleive he's the most damaging backrower in the game outside of SBW so i hated losing him.

But that's footy in this ridiculously restrictive salary cap age. No clubs more than the Roosters, Dragons and Bulldogs understand it better.

Is Mick Weyman a great talent? Undoubtably. Am I happy to have Shillington next season instead of Weyman? You bet your sweet bippy I am.

The fact is, on song, Weyman is up with the best in the competition. But Weyman has a Paul Green like ability to get injured, and a Terry Hill like ability to get suspended.

He probably has more natural talent than Shillington, but if you get him on the field for 50% of the season, you're doing well (and I've always said this).

Whilst this is a good signing, I'm still concerned about our forward pack for next season. We're looking at losing Logan, and probably Costigan. Whilst we've picked up Shillington, Nathan Smith and Stu Flanagan, we're probably one short. Which is why this news that we may have picked up Mickey Paea could be a big one for us.

Our backline next season is still a worry. I'm still holding out hope for Barrett but I guess he's 99% certain to be a Shark now.

Agreed
ive got my inside man working on it, he'll be able to tell me the lattest on Paea after the monday night game this week
If we can re-sign best, milne and j.carney, and bring in Paea and heingington, it'll have been a super off season... Baring that ill take Aiden Tolman from the storm and look to debut J.Thompson asap.

Barrett im becoming less fussed about as we go on. He'd be good but Herbert's the future, and we'll see that before the season it out

According to the Roosters website Mickey Paea is signed for 09.

So you may have to wait a little longer for him to arrive.

Reading how long Raiders fans have waited for Weyman to come good will give Roosters fan a case of deja veu - most of us would say the same about Shillo!

Good luck to the bloke - he probably feels like he's won the lottery being given a 4 year deal.

He was off contract this year, but it seems that he's been extended for a further year on the quiet.

The Roosters have done that with a few players recently - extended contracts for 1 year without any publicity or fanfare. They haven't even been announced on the Roosters site. It's only when you trawl through the contracts page that you seen they've been extended.

It was a ridiculous comment. The only reason why I put it forward was on the unlikely minor hope that someone would take it seriously. And you did. You Roosters fans should be used to stirring by now.

Another one that passes off a stupid comment as "stirring"

It was a while ago now that i herd he was coming, rd 4 or so, before shillington was entertained as an option, so theres a good chance its no longer on the cards
cheers for the info though

A very good signing by Canberra, Shillington is IMO a rep prop of the future. Get rid of the dead weight in Weyman and bring in a guy who will lead from the front. Good move.
