Ah yes, the talk-down, as exhibited by Max Power. A trait often seen in rugby league supporters when describing players who have decided that they no longer wish to wear said supporter's colours anymore.

I'm not talking him down at all. I actually said he's playing better this year.

I'm just responding to the ridiculous comment that we are going to get the spoon because a bench forward is going to the Raiders.

He has been nicknamed the Pillow for ages. Get used to it.

who will the roosters replace him with?
Watch teh game on Friday against the Eels. We'll be blooding a guy by the name of Anthony Cherrington. Also a young pack that'll prob be beaten by Parra, but good experience for blokes like Frank-Paul Nausalla and Mickey paea as well as Lopini.

He was a soft and ineffective player until the Roosters started winning. He's been solid this year.

Will be interesting to see if he can keep it up at the Raiders where he won't be part of such a dominant side.

Apparently Mickey Paea will be a Raider in '09, so that experience will hold him in good stead. Cheers for that Roosters.

It was a ridiculous comment. The only reason why I put it forward was on the unlikely minor hope that someone would take it seriously. And you did. You Roosters fans should be used to stirring by now.

if someone had of told me we could trade Brittle Mick Weyman for Dave Shillington, id have said deal without a seconds notice... I rate this signing, and apparently there is more to come :)

In the long run letting go of Shillington to seemingly retain Fitzy could prove a big mistake by the Roosters.

shillo is a 24 y.o prop just starting to hit his straps. As everyone knows most props best footy is in their mid-to-late 20s and early 30s. So shillo has another 6-7 seasons of quality football ahead of him. Fitzy has 1 more season at best.

I have a feeling that by 2010 the starting props for QLD will both have been brought through the grades by Easts (Shillo & hannant). Who says the roosters don't develop players :sarcasm:

Michael Weyman already looks 35. You've come out with the better deal.

Raiders fans also putting in a fine exhibition in this very thread when it comes to discussing Mick Weyman.

Best of luck to Shillington...

As a Roosters supporter, I am dissappointed as I do not believe he has played to his full potential yet....If and when he does, he will be a very damaging prop forward...

Canberra do seem to be building towards something.....

A little disappointing, but ultimately it's not a massive loss. Myles, O'Meley and Lopini Paea are all well ahead of him in the pecking order. And then there's the likes of Frank-Paul and let's not forget Shane Shackleton to come back this year who was starting to come along nicely towards the end of last year.

Shillo has the potential. He's been talked up for what seems like bloody ages now but has only recently come on to be half the player we all ocne hoped. He can ofcourse improve alot as he's only 24...but there still are minor question marks.

Either wqay good luck to him. He'll get the opportunity to be a starting prop next year at a club that desperately needs him.
