You and your genius mate Perth Red are singlehandedly turning me against your pissant state. I used to support the idea of a Perth team, but you can go to hell you sycophantic News Ltd genius. I will do everything possible to stop you twats from getting a team in OUR comp. Go to Hell.

Ha Ha I've read some BS on this board but that is is hysterical. i am sure the WARL and ARL are quaking in their boots at the threat of some keyboard t00ser scuppering their 4 year plan for readmittance!

I have heard quite the opposite! So far I have heard plenty of ARL folk talk about reducing Sydney teams and Gallop consistently state that the answer is not in culling teams. How do you get News are after culling teams or is it just paranoia against News as usual?

Read the Ultra League article which has Sydney down to about 3 teams. A News Ltd story. They developed the team list themselves. They also believe Newcastle should be Newcastle/Central Coast. That was in the Courier Mail, not sure if the Telegraph had the same team list.

News Ltd constantly argues for a reduction in teams.

The 12 teams that the Courier Mail should be are

1. North QLD
2. Broncos
3. Gold Coast
4. Newcastle / Central Coast
5. Canberra
6. Adelaide
7. Perth
8. Melbourne
9. Auckland

And the other 3 teams are merged Sydney teams.

You want a look at how successful the NRL would be as a 12 team comp full of regional and merged Sydney sides? Go and take a look at where the S14's figure on public consciousness...

I hate how everyone is so against the culling of Sydney clubs - and then claim it to be an NRL idea... THE ARL WERE PLANNING IT TOO!!! What do you think happened to Newtown? And they were a foundation club.

The fact of the matter is the league really needs to consider it's options and don't rush into any decisions. They need to consult independent experts, and policy advisors to develop and implement these changes. However, the NRL will more likely sit on their hands and hope it all blows over... Very poor issues management.

Listening to the Gallop v Gould interview I'm thinking you're right. I can't believe he's only mildly interested in a second Brisbane club. I know a ton of people from Brisbane regional areas like Warwick, Toowoomba, Ipswich etc that would love a team closer to them. I have mates that drive to Suncorp once or twice a year to see the Broncos. I understand the arguments against Perth and Adelaide but surely another Queensland team would only build on the success of the Gold Coast?

The ARL were going about it slowly, and not pulling the trigger.

They were pushing the Tigers into relocating too Melbourne and the Dragons to Adelaide. Which is why in the early-90s both those teams played a lot of matches in those cities.

Gallop talks about how Adelaide and Perth aren't an option cause they don't have local leagues.

Well, if they are going to wait for those 2 to have local leagues it will be decades before there are teams there. The other way to go about it is to put teams there and use the profile of the NRL team to build up a local competition. Have local juniors aspire to play to the Adelaide Rams, through the lcoal comp. Next.

I can. Broncos, with News Ltd's blessing, killed off a second rival and Gallop's a News lackey.

HA, the Crushers went broke and were planning to merge with the Chargers (who had money). The Broncos success may of killed the Crushers, they had an average crowd of 4,000.

Wrong location. Put the team in either Ipswich or Toowoomba and it will do pretty well.

Typical News Ltd hogwash.

The Crushers went broke for one reason - the constant barraging they got from the QLD News Ltd media.

And average crowds of 4,500? More proof of you're a News Ltd stooge on this forum. Their average crowds in their first year were higher than the Broncos in their first year.

If it wasn't for News Ltd the Crushers would still be here.

Wrong location. Put the team in either Ipswich or Toowoomba and it will do pretty well.

There should be a team in both Sth Brisbane (Mt Gravatt) and Ipswich.

The 4,000 crowds I am talking about were in their last season. Half of the time, they let us in for free. The problem (I believe) were that they were everybody's second team.
