Unions cut from NPC - opp. for RL?

Northland and Tasman have been cut from next years Air NZ Cup, could RL target these areas as there is bound to be some back lash?

Tasman is where Simon Mannering started whilst Northland boasts a few Kiwis such as Jason Mackie and Adan Blair.

$$ could be a major issue fro the NZRL.

That would require the NZRL to be pro active, so I won't be holding my breath. It'd be a good time to strike though, there's no reason why Northland couldn't get a go in the Auckland comp, and right on the back of the RLWC there could be some interest.

Northland have some of the best Juniors in the country (for League) should be the perfect time to move in and snap up all the talent.

i played for northland in both RU & RL and have always been a passionate supporter of the Taniwha...

the NZRL are so crap all thats going to happen is the cream of the crop in Northland will be picked up by bigger unions and Northland will pick up the next best talent which are usually the RL players so RL will be evev worse off...

NZRL hasnt got the sense to move, its beyond their capabilities.

a lot of the northland boys will get picked up by Harbour and Aucks.

Yeah, i was sure we'd be goone. Record losses in profit, and talk about a farked up union. We've never had good admin, and the Rotorua/Tauranga rivalry is still at the centre of all ills. Pity, because it's a rugby nursery down here. Just cant get our sh*t together to make the most of it.

If your looking at players from the cut unions. Alfred Pelenise. The Tasman and NZ 7s winger. He's a flyer. Worth a look.
