Home/Away Grand Final Jerseys?

Just wondering if anyone knows what jerseys the Storm and Manly will wear for the grand final?

Obviously the highest ranked team gets to wear their home jersey (as the Storm did last year), but do the storm lose their higher ranking because they lost in week one?

The NRL website is useless and hardly has a reference to the teams playing which would probably answer my question, as they would put the "home" team first when describing the matchup.

The only problem is the Storm's away jersey is so bad, on par with the broncos white "sponsors billboard" away jersey!

I don't quite think so. Have you seen Melbourne's away strip? It looks similar to Manly's home strip. Both teams will be wearing their home strip.

That storm jersey doesnt look too bad spread out like that, but considering most of the purple is under the player's arms, it will just look like a plain white jersey with massive red chest and sleeve sposnorships.

if anyone is looking for a pattern...since away jerseys started being used in grand finals, its followed a home/away pattern in terms of the winner (deleting '05 where they both wore away). Is it an advantage to wear the alternative strip this year? haha

My bad i got those two grand finals round the wrong way in my head thinking the roosters played penrith was '02 and warriors '03

so i guess the pattern is A-H-H-A-A-H

So maybe it is an advantage to wear the home jersey this year!

Yep.

I reckon Melbourne deserves the home jersey because they finished first.

Does anyone know the answer to this for sure? I'm pretty superstitious about the jerseys teams wear and both Melbourne and Manly don't play very well in their away one.

It was announced on 2GB on Sunday that Manly has first choice as they finished highest rank in the finals. The Storm were ranked "fifth" after the first week of finals. Basically because they lost they gave up their #1 ranking in the finals.

At this stage, it's Manly home, Melbourne away.
