As I've said a thousand times before, he could be the best centre in the world, or the most overated stand off. Bellamy's choice!

i agree and said as much to my mate last night
at centre there is no better player in the world, at 5/8th, he's very run of the mill

You cant use the injured excuse, if he was that hampered by it, he should have not been out there. He is a natural centre.

He was sh*t tonight. Folau had a dig. Slater had a dig. Cronk even. Inglis? MIA.

He is only good if someone puts him into space. Owned by Lion. He is crap.

Agree to an extent...he is a quality player but IMO goes missing in too many games through the season.

He has lived on a few big performances in the last couple of years and Bellamy will put the pressure on him next year.

He also needs to be back in the centres...Bellamy has got this wrong.

Folau definitely had a crack and will be great at the Broncs...

Consistency is the key with Inglis. Floau really impressed me last night - and with Folau you get a great effort each game. Ditto Slater and Cronk, and of course Johnston.

Interesting to see Inglis move to fullback, where he looked like a cutie clone.

I'm also wondering wether he is to big for the quick ball playing needed for the threequarters. He looks to take a thousand years to put up his bombs, and as a pivot is not a quick ball mover, nor seemingly a quick thinker.

I'm wondering if his future is as a wide running back rower - could see him turning into a Gene Miles type of player.

Brilliant ball runner who was clearly not 100%.

If the Storm don't find a replacement 5/8, the game will be robbed of our best centre.

its really up to bellamy. he's been wasted the past few years, has a few good games but hats usually when he goes back to playing a centres role on the edges than as a 5/8

but consistency has always been his problem

Inglis is a centre.

I think it is a bit over the top of the commentators to have an orgasm every time he touches the ball, but I can't dispute that he is one of the best in the game, even if he wasn't in last night's game. I can't recall him having an average game on the big stage before, and it wasn't entirely his fault

I don't believe he is overrated. Actually, in my opinion he is one of the most talented players in the game today.

Although. No.6 is not his spot. Centre or fullback should be his position.

I only have one criticism. He needs to stop this immature, " G.I. comes out in the big games" referring to himself in the third person, garbage.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever read.

I agree he is overrated. At least in the massively over the top glowing terms he is presented in by certain commentators who break out tissues on the mention of his name.

He is a good player, playing way out of position. Ive seen many better, more consistent players than greg inglies. Gasnier for instance, is a far better player imo.

because gasnier is consistent

Inglis is a fullback actually.

Problem there is Slater is a fullback and does not adapt to any other position well.

Inglis can play Fullback, Wing or Centre and be one of the best in the world.

He can also be a 5/8, but it is not really his go.

Inglis pays for his versatility in this regard.

He would be the best fullback in the world, should he play there.

The thing is though Angry- Lockyer is a fullback. When injury free, he is the best five eighth in the world- but there has always been so much weight to the argument that he is an even better fullback than a five eighth, certainly when his body was as fresh as Inglis' is now. One of the most convincing proofs of this was on the odd occasion when Lockyer dipped back to fullback to cover for injury (thinking of one time specifically in Origin), he was instantly and instinctively amazing. Last night, when Inglis switched back to fullback, he was not. But when he played out wider in Origin and in the Test match this year, he was.

A player like Inglis will go alright where ever you put him...but I still see him as a centre

Fair enough meth - entitled to opinion.

I saw Inglis play fullback for Norths Brisbane before he went to grade.

He scored a record amount of tries average of 1+ per game and looked like a under 16 playing under 12s - this was first grade QLD cup @ 17.

He has all the skills of a fullback, can take a bomb, pick a grubber off his toes, kick return for tries and chime in to set up others.

Bit wasted at centre IMO.

When he was playing in place of Slater, when he first came into first grade, he was amazing

I wonder if he has simply changed as a footballer since then

All he had then was more time and space, even as a centre he was great
(he's showed that at origin). Teams know now to get up in his face quickly before he can get any room. He'll be fine once Bellamy stops being so stubborn

Or that Bellamy has changed him against his natural ability and flair that is limited in the number 6 jersey.
