World Cup at WIN Stadium

Guys, I know that the World Cup game at WIN Stadium isn't expected to be huge. France vs Fiji doesn't exactly make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, though I do think it will be a half decent game.

However, the curtain-raiser is Fiji U19's vs. St George's 2009 U20's squad. This would be a good opportunity to get out one last time to cheer on the Big Red V in 2008 and to see who to watch in 2009. Hope to see plenty of Red and White there!!!

I reckon this could be a top game. france have plenty of Super League players and Fiji have some dazzling speed, not to mention Big Wes, Ashton Simms and Darryl Millard.

Ill be heading down, and ill be heading down early no i know what the warm up is.

This game will be a cracker and i hope it gets a big crowd.

Is Ashton Sims Fijian? I know he's playing for them but is it only a minor heritage link because he certainly doesn't look fijian to me...

I'm looking forward to France Vs Fiji. It's one the games where I've got no idea what the result could be.

. . Ashton has curly hair . . so he must be a coconut hey  . . . don't think the crowd will be that big but it is getting a bit of local advertising.

Ashton has always said hed play for fiji. In 2006 he was lining up to play in the WC qualifiers alongside Wes and Darryl Millard but got injured playing for saints (surprise surprise!) the Fijians qualified from that and then played international matches in utilising local players and some australian based players to sort out their final side in 2007.

there is a good article in the telly today (cant believe i said that) abnout simms and the Fiji squad. talks of how special it is and his time in fiji recently with the squad.

I'm sure he is proud of his heritage, but if Australia offered him a berth in the Kangaroos he would take it.

At WIN Stadium? Lol what makes you think that people will go THERE to cheer the saints on, considering hardly anybody did so during the actual season?

If it was at Kogarah however.... THEN there'd be no room for FIJIans.

Just checked the tickets and its only $10 for an adult on the hill and $7 for a concession. Thats probably the cheapest of the whole tournament so in that case I'm definately going, and it should be easier to entice some more mates to come with.
