Yeah I normally can cop people sitting down, but they compounded it with loud and boisterious talking. They didn't respond when I said what I said, they just stood up and looked at the field.

Brilliant atmosphere though.

What on Earth Happened to the Scottish anthem?
At least the Fijians won the anthems.

It was a more entertaining game of RL than any I have seen on TV this year.

It was a more entertaining game of RL than any I have seen on TV this year.

The Scots wanted to sing in full voice and the piper decided to not drown them out - which looked sh*t on TV but would have been good on the ground where the piper could hear them.
The piper then went up into the stands and played it properly.

The only people who benefitted were the players who got to belt out their anthem.

seemed to me the piper was out of time with the players so he kept stopping to catch up. It seemed really sh*t, as bad as any of the really bad anthems ovr the years if not worse.

Worst one by far was the PNG anthem against England, followed closely by the Irish anthem against Tonga and that French chick busting a lung in Woolongong :lol:

It could have been that.
I thought he was trying not to drown out the players.

The Fiji anthem worked so well because of the bloody excellent sound system at Bluetongue which allowed those guys to sing along to a backing tape without it being obvious.
I hope the new sound system at EAS we have been promised with the new stand is half as good.
