Natural disasters, you're kidding right. Stick to blowing your boyfirends.

Football records, or maths are not for you. If a dollar is worth 65 US cents today, and 75 cents next week, but your bank balance does not change in australian dollars, and you only have investments in australia, are you any richer ? Do you see how pathetic you are.

The concept of adjustment is clearly beyond you, Johnsy.

Can you see how dumb you are?

If its about the points 40 is greater then 38 isnt it??

But if you want to take into consideration the amount of tries scored you also have to take into account other factors that would affect the score...

Not denying 40 is greater than 38 NUMERICALLY.

The point scoring comparison is the issue here.

Only if Melbourne convert every try...... and the fact remains that 40 is still higher than 38.

Each conversion is a point scoring event.

Melbourne needed 6 converted tries and a field goal = 13 point scoring events. Or 10 unconverted tries and a field goal = 11 point scoring events.

Saints had to score 8 converted tries = 16 point scoring events. Or 13 unconverted tries = 13 point scoring events.

At the very closest, Melbourne and Saints could have done it with 13 poin scoring events. But that means 6 tries to Melbourne (converted) and 13 for Saints.

We all know what is the bigger hill to climb.

The point scoring comparison is the issue here.

The fact that tries were worth 3 points then matters not. Easts scored 8 tries in the '75 GF too, they just scored more goals than Manly did this year. Last time I checked, goals were worth 2 points in 1975, just as they are now.

Hopped in my time machine, and grabbed a copy of Grandpa Folau's 150 years of Australian Rugby League as it hit the virtual bookstores in time for the 2058 World Cup in Peru (who beat England 56-2 in the semi, BTW!)

Here's the results:

1. Will Cronulla ever win a premiership?
Yes. Defeated Miranda 12-8 in the 2033 GF in the St George A grade comp.

2. Will Souths ever win another premiership?
Yes. as the Perth Rabbitohs in the nailbiter vs Port Moresby Storm: 1-0 in 2041

3. Will the Broncos ever lose a Grand Final?
Yes. Will lose 4 straight from 2011-2014 with Ricky Stuart as coach

4. Will the Melbourne Storm ever gain the wholehearted support of the Melbourne people?
Yes, but only to relocate to Port Moresby

5. Will the Bears ever gain readmittance into the NRL?
No. Greg Florimo will try and buy it with a winning $2 scratchie in 2018, by the referees decided to stay with Manly.

6. Will the video referee ever be abolished completely?
Yes. Replaced by the hologram ref in 2022. This lasted one season, before Queensland origin coach Paul Gallan tried to beat it up. Unsucessfully.

7. Will Rugby League ever become the dominant winter sport in Australia, outside of NSW and Queensland?
Yes, after AFL merges with Tennis in 2009.

8. Will anyone ever best Ken Irvine's try scoring record?
Yes. Danny Wicks in 2010.

9. How about Manly's 40-0 Grand Final win over Melbourne? Will that ever be bested as a winning margin?
Yes. North Queenslands 52-0 flogging of Canterbury in 2039 - after tries were revalued as 8 points.

10. Will the WCC ever be reformatted to resemble an actually relevant contest?
No. Not since Dutch Rugby League usurped the ESL as the peak comp in Europe in 2028

11. Will Phil Gould ever shut up?
Phil Gould controversially eloped with Ray Hadley in 2011, moved to Crete, and hasn't been able to get a word in ever since!

12. Will Paul Gallen ever stop being a grub?
No.

13. Will a winger ever captain Australia?
Petero Civoniceva vs New Zealand, 2010, after Brian Smith became test coach.

14. How about win a Clive Churchill/ Dally M medal?
Steve Turner's 3 straight Clive Churchill medals with Gold Coast from 2011-2013.

15. Will they ever bring back the biff?
Yes. Once. Ricky Stuart in a Brisbane hotel lobby with Ashley Klein after the 2008 World Cup Final.

16. Will anyone ever break Steve Menzies' record, 349 games for the same club?
Yes. Craig Fitzgibbon for the Roosters in 2016.

17. Will the Origin concept ever be modified to include states other than NSW and QLD?
The famous one off tri-series origin of 2020, which was quickly abandoned by the NSW and QLD rugby Leagues, because they simply couldn't get within 40 points of Tasmania.

18. Will Origin ever die?
Sadly, yes. Knights hooker Elroy Origin of a heart attack in 2057.

19. Will either NSW or Queensland ever claim 4 straight series victories?
No. Apart from the 2020 Tassie Pinks triumph, they were all drawn series from 2009 to 2035. Called off after that due to boredom.

20. Will League ever die?
Absolutely not!!!

It's called being OBJECTIVE, merged scum.

TT isn't a stainers fan...i take it his point was that twits like you are resulting in the rest of us getting tarred with the same brush. Yes, Roosters scored more tries+goals in total. But the history books won't show that, and no one gives a f**k.

Oh god i was waiting for this one. Menzies NEVER signed a contract for the northern eagles, he was signed with Manly the whole way threw, there was no change on his contract.
Did he walk out and play 349 games for Manly...the answer is no, no matter who he is contracted to or whatever, he played 69 games for the Northern Eagles no matter how much you want to deny yourself

i might sound like the bad guy but Andrew Ettingshausen holds the record technically and why should we say to him "well technically you are the record holder, but we wont acknowledge you as it" He deserves it and so does Cronulla.
