If you have Nine HD, go to it. Press the 'Guide' button if you have one. Then scroll to the 7:30 State of Origin game. Press 'Information button' and it shows the information, including who is commentating. It says Joey, Lewis, Warren, Sterling and Gould.

You could understand these reports coming out from a rival network to undermine the game, however the stories coming out from 9 gives it away.

9 are trying to devalue the game to a point where they can offer less for broadcast rights which coincidentally are up for renewal.

Good business practice - YES

Nothing to do with Ben Ikin or State of Origin is it? Ben Ikin has nothing to do with the running of the company it would seem. All Nine could come up with is that Ben was in a promo video once. NRL and Ben Ikin should sue.

Whether or not Ben's dad did this or that is moot.Guilt by association is scraping the bottom of the barrell.If Ben is personally involved than ok it is news.How they manage to make it a SOO scandal is beyond comprehension.
I won't miss Ben but am not happy about the circumstances in which he resigned.So much for employees being a company's best asset.

Not really, but for me not having to hear Ikins extremely poor commentary is a great thing. Its definite, its done and its great.
Who knows what his father did I can't comment on that, it matters not until its fact.

To see Ch9 RL commentary imploding is another truly great thing.

So by underestimating the greatness of Ikin not commentating tonights SOO or any more Broncos games is misunderstanding that this is a good news story for RL fans
