Monk my friend, the secret to talking to Women is to do less talking and more listening. If you can establish yourself as a sympathetic ear, then sooner or later you will be in like Flynn. Women generally don't give a sh*t about your life until they get to know you. In the beginning they usually just want to talk about themselves and have somebody listen to them.
How do you get talking in the first place? Well, firstly you have to grow a set and be the conversation starter. Go over to her and strike up a conversation. Really though, you just need to start her off talking about herself and then listen really well for about 3 weeks. Whenever there is a slight break, give her a compliment. After that 3 week period, she should have exhausted all she could say about herself and she will start asking you some questions about yourself. By the time you get to this stage, she will be comfortable around you and you will be set.

2. Whenever she has a doubt about herself or mentions something she doesn't like about herself, deny it vehemently and follow up with a compliment. Women tend to have a lot of self doubts and they ask questions like - "Do I look fat in this", "is my bum getting bigger" etc etc. Always answer in a positive and re-assuring way, i.e "of course not, you have a great bum".
3. Grow some nads and be the one to strike up the conversation. Women like confident self assured Men. Most of them like you to take the lead.
4. Rejection is a part of life. Don't let it crush you. If a girl rejects your advances, its probably because of some trivial reason, like the shoes you are wearing at the time or that she just doesn't feel like talking to you atm. Most times, you will find if you are confident enough, they will at least have a chat to you. Believe me when I say this, because I'm not the prettiest lookin bloke in the world, but I'm confident and I used to get more conversations than knock backs (when I was a single bloke)
5. Don't be desperate. If a girl knocks you back, don't chase her. Move on to the next one. Some may find it flattering that you are chasing them, but most just view it as you being a stalker.
