Dear Josh Massoud,
I would like to applaud you on your very informative article in todays Telecrap. To us mere mortals, you're cutting edge investigative journalism sets you apart from your peers. All of those years spent staying up late, honing your skills to be where you are today, I am glad to see have not gone unjustified.
Myself, and thousands of other fans who support the great game of rugby league would like to applaud you for bringing to our knowledge that the dastardly dragons are locking out junior league pass holders to this Friday nights blockbuster match at Win Jubilee Oval. Here I was thinking that it was applicable to all NRL matches and actually written on the junior passes that these cards are invalid at near to or full capacity matches, and has been for many years. It appears senility must be setting in on me, therefore I must take all your articles as gospel as surely, as is evident, I am mistaken.
Thankyou sir and congratulations. Gaining a back page editorial is no mean feat, and doing so on pointing out a fact that is blatantly obvious and known to everyone all and sundry, well I want to be first to say, Josh my boy, you've made it. Your family must be proud.

Dickhead!

I hope he is well paid.

At what price would you sell your everlasting soul? I’m thinking 7 figures minimum, particularly if I’m forced to peddle poorly formed low-brow propaganda to the lowest common denominator via the lowest of the low tabloids. A used-car salesman at least performs some kind of service, ditto a telemarketer. There is even a certain art in the workings of an advertising exec, and some skill in the sliminess of lawyers and politicians. Tommy Johnson made beautiful blues music after selling his soul to the devil. But to write such absolute crud for the Telecrap, oh boy, not even bathing in crisp hundred dollar bills could provide solace from something so awful and inhumane

When Josh finishes his Journalism degree, he might go work for a newspaper.

Was thinking the same. Guy was a few years above me at school (different schools). Grew up a diehard Saints supporter. Still see him around Birkenhead Pt/Balmain area..

And look at him now. Pushing an agenda against his beloved team. I guess he is doing his job and what his pathetic paper is asking of him. But like you Godz, I hope he is well paid and I hope that when we win the comp at some point, he doesn't experience the same levels of euphoria that the rest of us experience for supporting our great club.

Sellout.

I think Josh must be the pinup boy for all the geeks who got picked last on footy teams at lunch time during his school years.

My brother went to school with him. He's a Syndey Tech boy; Has a tat of the Saints dragon on his left shoulder from '99. Sold his soul to the Tele a few years ago, and after the '05 run became quite bitter.

An amicable guy normally, quite funny and big on the piss. But he's bought into the Tele and its approach. Was at a BBQ one day with him, my brother and a few of his mates and was having a discussion around the fact that I do Youth Group - He took a fair few swipes at me for 'teaching youths religious propoganda'. Couldn't help but laugh at him and pointed to the numerious occasions the Tele has done the same, particularly with the Cronulla Riots. He claims 'We couldn't have known what would happen, we just covered the event. Our aim is to sell papers and we do that best.'

He argues like a bush lawyer though; Never wrong, always right and at the cutting edge of thought. It never ceases to amaze me how far he has come from when I read a few of his independent articles before his News Ltd days to where he is now; a true selling of ones soul if ever I saw it.

Journos are paid absolute rubbish. Because so many people want to be journos editors can pay them whatever they like. I would seriously doubt that Phelps, Massoud etc are on anything more than $50k per annum.

I know Phelps until the end of last year was on $40k, no wonder they are so bitter.

Yep, I had this in mind when I said I hope he's well paid. It was an absurd notion because everyone knows they earn peanuts

Phelps is the same, completely arrogant and besides O'Meley hasnt got a friend in the world.

Calls his 2 year old son a "androtop" and thinks that its funny. Has shocking small man sydnrome and gets his revenge on the world through his "journalism".

Massoud made it in 2007 when he wrote a story about the 7yr old girl who is (was) a knights supporter...and Big Bad Brian Smith "wrekked" (sic) her footy team.
He should have won a journalism award for that masterpiece.

Man, rothf**knuckle is a gimp. How does "dragons lock out fans" sound like all clubs are doing it??? And that family crying poor, stiff sh*t. The rules are written on the junior passes. If you don't like it, get a club membership. If you're too poor, then stayand watch it on a shop front tv. Frigging scabs.

I'm curious as to why there was no breakout of morality to be found when Parramatta Stadium sold out last week.

The Parramatta club applauded it, as they should. http://www.parraeels.com.au/default.aspx?s=article-display&id=19760

Moreover, in the lead up to the Parra v Penrith being sold out, the Eels club reiterated that no freebies were available - this being a condition of junior passes.

With demand at near unprecedented levels, the Club wishes to advise that NRL Junior Passes and NRL Season Passes will not be accepted for this match.
Link: http://www.parraeels.com.au/default.aspx?s=newsdisplay&id=19621

The Dragons club have always the same conditions and have done the same type of media releases.
If anything, the Dragons media release is more informative.

Please be advised that due to venue capacity constraints, NRL (Yellow Passes), Club Junior Passes and NRL match passes cannot be accepted for this match. The conditions of entry for these passes specify that entry is subject to venue capacity. See back of pass for card entry conditions.

Both media release relating to Parramatta Stadium and Kogarah Jubilee advised fans to purchase tickets in advance from the usual outlets.

The Kogarah situation is no different to Parramatta.
