We all know Cameron Smith will be picked for the end of year Quad Nations tour. however, who would you pick as back-up hooker for this tour and test matches?

Discussion also.

Who is your pick?

Its Farah for sure- no one else will get a look in

The current Aus coach has said " I wouldn't swap him for any other hooker in the game" and he has him as the clubs captian

Personally I'd pick him ahead of Smith...

although i like robbie farah, i'd have to go ennis. farah is more of a playmaker, but if an AUS team has players such as thurston and lockyer, i dont think farah would be needed as much, and a more steady and reliable player in ennis would be better

Finals will play a big part. If dogs get to GF and if they win it, most definately it will be Ennis.

Farah needs to work on his delivery IMO
He's a far better player than Ennis BUT he's so used to running everything since Prince went back to the GC that his delivery from dummy half seems to have dropped off a little, because he simply doesnt generally pass from dummy half much due to the lack of a halfback at Wests.

Are you saying if the Eels make and win the Grand Final that Keving Kingston or Matt Keating will suddenly enter the picture?

I think he's saying that being a critical part of a team missing its main play maker for the next 4 weeks or so would put him ahead of the other contenders. Kingston and Keating aren't contenders for the spot.

i dont think thats what he meant, i mean you have to be consistent through the season. It is however benificial to have had an extra few gaes in the crunch period over your closest rival

probably the bloke above that gets furthest in the finals - so that would be ennis.

he did ok in origin too i thought, farah didn't quite step for mine.

I'd pick Farrar. As much as I like what Ennis brings to the team, I think Farrar would still be a better fit at that level.

I know that, and I wasn't implying they were.

But what I understood from his comments were that the importance of winning a Grand Final is enough to sway selectors' minds - so, hypothetically at the very least, if the Eels did win the title, then it would be fair to assume that they should be thought about as candidates.

But my vote would go to Ennis.

If Farah is fit I'll bet my balls he'll get the call up over Ennis- as long as Sheens is coach And rightly so much better player...

Fair enough if you'd have him in your side...no way sheens will take him though.

No because they are sh*t...

I see farah and ennis as neck and neck for that bench spot, however because ennis will be playing finals footy, quite possibly the gf, it will put him in high regard with the selectors.

its just common practise now for the side that wins the gf to have a fair amount of the quota of the test players selected whether they deserve it or not, manly had six last year.

Yeah, they're real sh*t eh. Gone further this season than most of the candidates that were nominated.

Mate, don't get me wrong - Matt Keating has been doing a great job for us but he's a while away from Rep footy (if he ever indeed gets there).

I was just pointing out how if we were lucky enough to make it you could argue that he could be considered. I doubt he would be. If anything, Anthony Mitchell will be the next big thing in terms of hookers at Parramatta.
