Will Hayne be alright

If Hayne is rubbed out of the grand final the NRL would have lost ALL credibility because there was absolutely nothing in it ...

Havent seen how it looked on the box, bit out there I thought it accidental and not much he could do about it.

Very tough call IMO.

I'm not a Parra fan but if David Gallop wants to sell the game then he should have a quiet word in the ear of the judiciary.

Doesn't look good imo. I'd expect him to be charged.

Hayne will likely escape suspension if the offense is deemed only a grade one, as he has no carry over points at the judiciary.

Soward was charged with a Grade-One dangerous contact for his little foot to the face effort... he got charged and got off as it was clearly unintentional. However everyone has been saying that regardless of if any malice was involved... Hayne came sliding in leading with the knees and made contact with the players head after the ball was grounded.

Would be great to see him in the GF but it will be a nervous few days for the young lad.

If there is any consistency Hayne will be suspended and will miss the Grand Final.

It was one of the highlighted areas this year they were going to crack down on.

You do not tackle with your knees.

The other thing against him was that it was quite late.

Kevin Moore reckons it was dodgy in the post match press conference... who knows - we all remember Cameron Smith from last year...Jesus - i hope he plays...Perhaps Hillsong can pull some strings upstairs...

I just watched it again on fox and I thought he was trying to HIP him lead with the hip but goodwin got there too quick ? I still think its a finals match and you have to leave nothing behind so they should take that into consideration. Fingers crossed I guess cam smith missed last years GF so anythings possible

went in with the knees. Imo if the judiciary has any spine he won't play next week. They got Cam Smith last year and they got Ricketson in 04.

Pity, because he is pretty much the most awesome sight in Rugby League at the moment. Amazing stuff week in week out.

He will get a grade 1 at most, take the plea and play in the GF. He has no carry over points. I'll bet anyone $1000 he doesn't miss the GF.

if it was any other player than the nrl golden boy the reality is they would be charged and out for at least a week. The photo by the earlier poster clearly shows him leading with the knees well before the point of impact. He hit the head with the knees injuring the player
But there is no it will happen as we seen with thurston there are different rules for different players

I have watched the replay a couple of times and I actually thought the contact was with Haynes thigh. At the point of contact the knees were actuall pointed to the dead ball line.
In the absolute most - a grade 1... but who knows ?
Very bad form from Kevin Moore in the press conference when he alluded to the fact that it was a very bad play from Hayne. Goodwin may have been groggy Kevin but thats not why you lost, you could have been more gracious in defeat.

My thoughts are that if Hayne is suspended, then Slater would be charged every week. Nothing in it, and if Hannant didn't lay down to get the penalty rhen nothing there either.

These video refs are a complete joke most of the time
