I think you Parra fans are being a little bit close minded on this situation.
This venture was only going to go for one or two seasons at best.
It would have given an oppurtunity for more young fringe players to show their wares,
and from what I gather, Parra had first choice of them.
Cronulla had a venture like this once, with Newtown, we took a gamble with a couple of players that were with the Jets and signed them. One of them was a young bloke called Kevin Kingston, you know the guy, he's the one you had been trying to keep at your club, and helped you on your way to the GF. Well he was given a chance through such a venture, whose to say you wont find another?
This situation is not uncommon to the NSW Cup, Newtown(the oldest Rugby League Club in the land) have been doing it for years, Auckland,Cronulla and Easts. All the while they are in the South Sydney area.
Souths haven't reared their heads and protested, they understand that it's better for the game in a whole to have more players plying their trade.
I respect your opinions but I think in this case you aren't seeing the bigger picture and how it can advantage you guys as well.

hey sstagger eel, it wouldnt happen. never heard of caRRRRingbah!!!! hahaha

You leave my mate stagger alone. I keep telling him the Sutherland Shire is a great place to live but unfortunately it is full of people like reefy whose major highlight for the week is vomiting on the floor at Northies.

Reefy, I have just put the rent up at your 1 bedroom unit looking at the brickwall.

Love

Avenger aka your Landlord.

makes me laugh that people who come from the Parramatta district can put sh*t on the quality of the people that live in the Shire.... hahahaha come on now, be realistic.

I live in the Sutherland Shire. Looking at the Hacking River as I write. Blame Noelene Donaher for the perception and the blow ins from Menai that caused all that fuss in 2005 not me.

fairs fair BBB, you just can't compare this situation to the Newtown ventures, Newtown are a foundation club who competed in the NSWRL for over 70 years off their own bat, South Sydney inherited them as a junior club, the sort of history and connection which Parra have shared with their juniors just isn't there.

I dare say that the situation wouldn't be the same had you tried to entice Mascot to a join venture?

Parramatta has invested a great deal of money, time and effort into all their juniors including Cabra despite the few here that will continue to carry gripes would tell you otherwise, Our junior rep sides are currently playing out of Cabra'a home ground which inturn helps them with canteen and leagues club revenue.

BBB, I know you're a smart bloke, you can't seriously tell me that we're in no danger of losing our juniors to your club if venture was to occour, surely you can't be that naive??...anyway, why wouldn't the sharks knock on the Enterence, Umina or Wyong's door for a venture?? you wouldn't be treading on the toes of an NRL club who carry an alliance with them and they've all got a solid leagues club backing behind them? just a thought.

Yeah you & your uber landlord mate are right. God forbid losing players like Brod Wright, nathan Gardner, Albert Kelly, TT, et al. f**k, imagine if the unthinkable happened & they all went to the same club!!!
Nah, protest the venture before any damage occurs.

I prefer to use our own juniors. But if they're not good enough, and juniors from the West are superior, then why not?

You know Avenger, there is a saying in life that is so true.
"You can dress a monkey in silk, but its still just a monkey."
Either you have RE in the shire & talk it up or dont have RE in the shire & are just full of krap. Either way, by talking it up, you are just a monkey.
