Just look at Burgess.

Look forward to seeing him.

The English kids are starting to get it, want to be the best, play against the best.

Bishop was great, Hanley was great, Morley was great, Ellis has been great, this kid will be great too.

Of course there have been more than that too.

You English need to embrace the best Rubgy League comp in the world. You really need to send some 1,6,7,9's here to make a game of it internationallly, then you be a real challenge like the kiwis are since playing week in week out against the best.

In return we will send quality to mentor your young blokes and entertain you.

The fans in England are also keen to see the young players moving over to improve in the NRL.

We should do it the degree where only 50% of NRL players are eligible for the Roos and see if that will knock them down a peg or two.

Pretty much all the Kiwis play in the NRL, and we beat them.

Our standout players (with the exception of Ellis) have never played in the NRL.

Plenty of NRL players were no great shakes in the SL when they came over.

It's certainly the best competition, but NRL experience is not as essential as you may think for English international success. More players are what's needed, we don't have the depth of Aus and arguably NZ.

True that Ozz was sayin to the Missus maybe we should approach him to play here...
Looks like he would fit straight in and apparently he's comin off contract with Saints.
But I bet they dont instead they will buy Rovelli back or Witty...
(Oh God I mentioned Witty Witty Fan will be here next with a bottle of Baby Oil.)
No but the little fella reminded me a bit of another young Half-back that made a name for hinself at the Warriors....Midder Jones!

wouldnt mind seeing their halfback in Warriors gear..

The kid certainly has one of the best running games of any halfback in either comp but his kicking game and organisation needs to improve.

Would be expensive getting him across and still a pretty big gamble

Indeed improving the ESL would be the more logical option. I think it'll be a long time before Aus or NZ are truely competitive with Australia, if ever.

Australia RL have the pick of all the finest athletes in Aus. In England that is sadly not the case. All youngsters want to be the next David Beckham not Paul Sculthorpe!!

You have far too many players to choose from. We dont!

Losing all our best players to your competition will not inprove SL. And to be honest i couldent give a rats ar*e if your country dominate the sport. Im a season ticket holder at my local side St Helens nd i love nothing better than going on matchday. Us losing the likes of Eastmond, Roby and Graham would do NOTHING for our game!

Im sick of this logic, ots so flawed. Kids grow up in Australia wanting to be Wally Lewis or Andrew Johns, but the Socceroos are still competitive, kids grow up wanting to be Joanah Lomu but NZ won the World Cup, kids in America grow up wanting to be Michael Jordan or Tom Brady, they still compete in Soccer quite well.

Its not an excuse. If the logic was correct, PNG would be a super power RL nation.

How many top class players do the Socceroos have to choose from comapred to your RL team ?

Answer = nowhere as near!

The socceroos are shi*er! Harry Kewell is still your country's best player (I'm a season ticket holder at nfield aswell) and i can you the guy is a absolute dud! His playig his trade in Turkey now. Tim Cahill is looking rather poor at Everton too!

England RL COMPETE quite well, as the four nations proved. However we will NEVER beable to compete against the Aussies for player pools. English kids dont want to play rugby league. Infact most schools even in the North west of England dont play RL untill they reach 11 years old! Down south they dont play it at all!

It's a little sport.

If you want to have world class players you play them in a world class comp.

This is not about super league rather england as a team that might beat australia.

Ou world class soccer players don't play in the local league.

Once they have proven good enogh for nrl they can go home improve the game there and set a standard for the locals to follow.

England competed quite well with Australia for a good 65 years there, im sure Soccer and Union were pretty strong there too.

Sam Burgess is world class NOW!

James Graham is the worlds best prop NOW!

These guys have done this by playing in super league. It's not the Burgess, Graham, Ellis etc... of this world that let us down. It's the player pool in which we have access too! None of our 1-5 are good enough, you can send them all to the NRL if you want and they still wouldent be good enough.
