As far as my relocation post went.. ppl slighty favored to not relocate the Sharks despite a very fair amount of ppl for them to stay.
In fact if you take out the Sharks fans votes for them to not be relocated
then it would have been a landslide for them in favor of relocation.

Just out of interest.. How would ppl feel if the option of axeing the Sharks
from the league to make way for Perth Reds?

Dont get upset ppl.. just theorising possibillities..

no, don't want to see any fans lose their team so we can have one! Happened to us so the Storm could exist and its not a nice thing.

Dont get upset.. im just theorising possibilities.. :D

your mind seems it can only handle one possibility, long term drug abuse would do that to you

lets talk about the storm and how they would go down faster then a whore with a $100 when News pull out

Couple more interest rate rises, combined with no major sponsor, and weak crowds would probably see the Sharks fold. Forget about the development, that is years away from producing any money for the club to survive, and even then that money will go to the Leagues club, who will need to pay back debts first, and whatever is left over will go to the football club via a grant. Which ultimately means they will remain financially one of the weakest clubs in the League.

Though I doubt that the Reds will get back in, rather the Central Coast will force there way in, they seem much better prepared than the Reds at this stage.

C'mon refute my comments if it ain't true.

From what I understand...
* Sharks have no major sponsor at this point.
* The development was forecast to bring in approx $5mil a year profit (whether this is net or gross I am not sure). This is to go to the Leagues club rather than the football club. They expect money to start coming in approx 5 years time.
* Sharks spend the least on and off the field of any NRL club.
* The highest Sharks season average was 16281 in 2005. Though the second highest was 13974 back in 1999. Crowds have been pretty poor even when you had a good year on the field in 2008 you still only averaged 12965.
* One of the lowest amounts of Season ticket holders in the comp.
* League's club owes St George bank approx $8-9mil. St George previously has been close to foreclosing the loan. What may some more interest rate rises do to pressure on the leagues and football club operations?
* Have been bailed out of debt previously. Why should the NRL do it again when the club struggles to get any kind of support outside of it's own area.

If they're too weak, they'll die.

No need to cull teams. I'm 100% certain 2 clubs will be forced out of Sydney by the end of the next decade. At least that way there'll be no gnashing of teeth over the grave injustice of it all.

* Sharks have no major sponsor at this point. CORRECT THANKS TO GREG BIRD (WHOM WE SACKED) SOME SLAPPA WHO CLUNG ONTO BRETT SEYMOUR FOR $3000 (WHOM WE SACKED) AND POOR ADMIN (ZAPPIA - WHOM WE SACKED PRETTY MUCH) ALL TO BE SEEN AS FOR THE GOOD OF THE GAME.... WHERE DID THAT GET US MR GALLOP???
* The development was forecast to bring in approx $5mil a year profit (whether this is net or gross I am not sure). This is to go to the Leagues club rather than the football club. They expect money to start coming in approx 5 years time. THE LEAGUES CLUB WOULD THEN GIVE IT TO THE FOOTBALL CLUB AS WITHOUT THE TEAM THE LEAGUES CLUB WOULD STRUGGLE FURTHER - 5 YEARS TIME? SOURCE?

* One of the lowest amounts of Season ticket holders in the comp. IRRELEVANT IF YOU THINK THIS IS ENOUGH TO GET THEM AXED
* League's club owes St George bank approx $8-9mil. St George previously has been close to foreclosing the loan. What may some more interest rate rises do to pressure on the leagues and football club operations? SO THE SHARKS ARE THE ONLY CLUB WHO WILL FEEL INTEREST RATE PRESSURE?? AXE THEM.
* Have been bailed out of debt previously. Why should the NRL do it again when the club struggles to get any kind of support outside of it's own area. WHO SAID THE NRL IS DOING ANYTHIGN TO HELP THEM... TRUST ME GALLOP ISNT. WE ARE THE ONLY CLUB WHO TRIES TO BACK HIS STANCE ON PLAYER BEHAVIOUR UP AND WHAT DO WE GET FOR IT....SFA

Get off the hate the sharks bandwagon... its over crowded.

I rekon we let the Sharks management decide themselves. At the moment they pay their way by just playing one of the 8 games a week.

When it comes to the 16 clubs and what they offer to the NRL as a whole, Cronulla would probably be the weakest. Is that a reason to punt them? for the good of the rest of the teams? Yes, but still shouldnt be done.
