i hope the ground has extra security & metal detectors. even for a crowd of 12.

this is a danger game!

maybe the nrl should sanction it as a premiership game & put 2 points on the line.

nope.. even if the dogs won the game, they'd just lose the 2 points later in the season for cheating...

Let's call it the Oasis Cup. We could get Liverpool Council to bankroll it.

A true business opportunity that shouldn't be missed.

Just send me some money and I'll get the ball rolling.

No doubt they'll intentionally breach their salary cap to win this do-or-die trial match. Rumoir has it they'll even field 14 men in a blazen attempt to steal the glory from the dragons so as they might be able to hold aloft the illustrious, most sought after piece of silverware in the nrl, the mercury cup trophy! Keep the dream alive doggy fans. It's your time to shine!

As long as we don't have one of our replacement forwards obstructing Soward and our final try disallowed, we'll be fine :sarcasm:

you're so right dodge.

i think when the two sides clash this year, the game should be worth 4 points to the dogs if they win. 2 of those points should be attributed to last year & the last year's table changed accordingly & the finals series adjusted & replayed.

btw - could i have the 2 metre-forward pass that led up to canterbury's try in the 85 grand final adjusted as well?

how about that atrocious try from a blatant shepherd for canterbury's '95 final win? any chance of that been retrospectively adjusted?

Revenge for when Jamie Soward supposedly hugged big fat Greg Eastwood in the lead up to a Jamal Idris try, and made it appear that Eastwood had in fact grabbed him, thus preventing him from catching a running Patten.

Soward tried to get past Easty but his big gut got in the way.

Well that's a lesson for Jamie then, don't run at the fat man if you want to catch Luke Patten :sarcasm:

The fat man was in the way. Jamie is not blind and can tell the different between the 88kg Patten and the 110kg Eastwood. (i think the figures are right)

We don't have to that far back. In the match that Tim is sooking about, the blatant ref errors that got the choking mongrels back into the match. It should have been 30-0. But justice prevailed. The right team won.

What are you suggesting Tim? Time for some REVENGE?

Sounds like you are taking this trial match very seriously.

Whatever happened to the 'water under the bridge' defence?
the Bulldogs were caught rorting the cap. They ripped off the ‘level playing field’ by at least $1million and essentially, they were cheating. Investigations concluded that the Bulldogs were rotten to the core. The saga cost Canterbury 37 competition points, and delivered them the wooden spoon for 2002.

At the heart of this was the infamous Oasis project, a showcase development in Liverpool. It was revealed the club was using the $800million project to illegally pay players outside the NRL's $3.25million cap. At first, the Bulldogs were in denial, they hid behind a web of deceit and dug themselves in deeper. Eventually, embarrassed Bulldogs CEO Bob Hagan resigned and publicly admitted that the club had been over the cap for years.

In fessing up about the undeclared player payments, Bob said, “It's a long, long process and we've tried since Super League days to get our salary cap in order.”

Since Super League? That was in 1997. This begs the question: how much long, long, longer would this ‘process’ had gone on if they didn’t get caught?

The ‘water under the bridge’ defence
It’s a sordid history but when dealing with the truth, many Bulldogs supporters play the ‘water under the bridge’ card. This is followed by contradictions as the same fans death ride any other team

http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?p=2401332

So in addition to being whingers and sooks, bulldog supporters are also hypocrites. Why am I not surprised?
