1. Good to see some footy played.
2. Hayne looks to have put on about 8kgs - dont know if it will help or hinder his game, I felt he really looked beat out there.
3. Haynes sternum injury - any news ??
4. Sam Burgess - Will be the player of the year.

With all the hype I reckon Burgess will blow his knee out and never be heard from again

I hope he doesnt - The kid IS the real deal.
He has come from sub zero pommy land to 30 degree heat on the Coast and blitzed them.
He was far and away the best player out there tonight.
He may be the godsend the bunnies are counting on.

yeh haynes filling out, i mean hes 22 yeh? so hes still growing into his body. hes gonna be a monster fullback, he just will take time to play according to his body size etc. but he showed glimpses of his fancy fotwork, hes just a bit rusty prob take a couple rounds to get really going tbh

im thinking first 5 games we will be wins:3 losses: 2

Had a great game tonight and had some really good games for the England side. As for POTY - Not this year. It will be interesting to see how he is playing mid way through the season as that will be the big test, back to back football in the NRL. He'll be successful, no doubt. I think it may take a little more than a one off game where he was out to prove himself.

Was wondering why I didn't see Hayne in the second half. He was rusty but when he had the ball he did some good things, maybe tried to hard, but you could tell he hasn't lost that special touch.

This may sound silly, but I reckon Hayne is heading towards a lock / 5/8 poistion in the years to come. Not now but in 4-5 years due to his size.

Burgress was the best on the field. His only problem will be getting use to the speed on the game and generally there is no easy games like england. In the NRL you need to be consistent each week as there are no easy games.

Hayne didnt play the last quarter of the match and was photographed sitting in the stand with ice to the sternum area. I did read on another forum that he was injured but I havent been able to pick up anything else.

Hayne was alright. he just didn't look too happy for some reason. If it wasn't for the passionate defense, He almost got a try. Great lead up work before it.

I don't like the power play
Nrl could have still won if they took all there kicks instead of failing at doing the wall lmao

I've been saying this all along. He'll be like Fittler, etc, and eventually with move to lock/5/8/th

well i think theyre trying to put him into the mould of Grothe/Tahu big strong fast backs i can actually see him in the centres with Tahu maybe i mean he wouldnt look out of place tbh then put burt or Inu to fullback.

see how he handles the weight and being fullback

1. Inu
2. Burt
3. Hayne
4. Tahu
5. Grothe

that would be a powerful backline Inu isnt huge and shows signs of the fleet footed footwork he had when tahu was here last.

i wouldnt be totally surprised if by the end of the year this is our backline with Reddy on the bench as a back option and can send grothe up to the backrow for some hit ups and hard work....then we would be given hindy some rests here and there

I thought the game was terrific, plenty of passion from both sides. Burgess is a deadset gun. Great on his feet runs hard and hits like a train. Hayne looked like a tank out there, hopefully he hasn't lost any of his pace and Jennings how good is he to watch????

Just out of curiosity why on earth would anyone want to move a player who for the majority of last season showed himself to be one of the, if no the best player in the world?

Some of you guys really need the footy to start.
