Hasnt been tested against good defensive teams ,where Boyd has come out on top, number of trys mean nothing, its the try saves and reading the play when defending
Boyd hasn't done any damage to any defensive side? Dugan torched the Dragons last year on memory and the Titans are one of the better defensive teams in the NRL and Hohaia played well then. How many tries has Dugan saved this year? I don't remember him letting too many in, I remember him tackling Bryce Gibbs yesterday with the line wide open. Dave Taylor last year.

Lol gaba, the dribble you type amazes me. You need to get a clue. Boyd in the top ten?? Carney is playing better than boyd and he isn't even in the top ten. Deadset.

Stopped Ellis from scoring, took down Farah, stopped Chris Lawrence (one of the fastest players in the leauge) 1 on 1.

Dugan is a freak.

What is the point of having the "world's best player" when your team can't even make the finals. Benji who?

Flashy back flicks are useless if the team loses.

You're an idiot. Without Farah and Marshall the Tigers would have collected a wooden spoon or two.

Benji is definitely in the top five players in the game at the moment. He still has one poor play in him every game (i.e kick out on the full against Parra last week), but earlier last year and in previous years he'd have three or four of these.

I still think he has plenty of improvement left in him. Over the last six months he has calmed down and is not trying to go for the killer play everytime he touches the ball. He is becoming a more calm and mature player, and he'll only get better.

Thurston is rubbish as well by those standards.
I wouldn't say he's rubbish. Team balance is more important than the focus on individual efforts. I liken Thurston/Marshall to an excited labrador retriever who needs to be kept on a leish.

This thread should be called, "flashiest player in the NRL"

Last week the Titans had all the ball against the Raiders how many opportunities did they have to score, seemed like they were in a position to score nearly all game and Dugan saved the Raiders time after time after time against one of the top teams in the NRL.

You can't penalize an individual talent for being on an underperforming/poor team.

Thurston and Marshall probably the two best playmakers going around, but have played for underperforming sides over the last few years. This year they've both got sides around them who are more than capable and above average players and both of them should heavily feature in the top 8.

Also, on the flashy topic, can you elaborate how the pass to Chris Lawrence was flashy? How the double pump to put Fulton into a gap was flashy? What about the kick to Tuqiri in the opening stages of the Eels match? What about the run around play with Flanagan?

Marshall is no longer just a flashy player. He runs the show and runs it brilliantly. Pulls out the flashy play when he needs to, and directs traffic and plays it slow when he needs to. That's the huge improvement in his game over the last 6-12 months.

Farah and Marshall are equally important to us IMO. Yesterday Marshall was quiet for 70 minutes and Farah stood up and completely dominated. Next week perhaps it will be the other way around, some weeks they will both fire.

The back flick is flashy - a rare visual treat, a bit like the under the leg return shot in tennis. The goose step is also flashy.

A flashy move is a redundant but spectacular move which could have been susbstituted by a safer and more conventional one.

Marshall has also had four serious, near career ending shoulder injuries, a bung knee and ankle injuries.

So to come back from that just shows the courage and determination of the man.

Watching him play is a pleasure!!!

As far as Farah is concerned, great player his stats over the last 18 months are awesome, Ennis has some work to do IMO

Farah is statistically the best hooker.

Ennis through statistics is one of the worst, he has the highest rates of miss tackles amongst hookers, missing approximately 1 in every 5 & 1/2 attempts. That is down right pathetic.

Haven't read the rest of the thread but I think Benji is easily the best five eight in the comp at the moment. Every time he gets the ball it looks like the Tigers are going to make a break.

you cant tell me apart from slater, there is another fullback who is playing better

.....
9- D.Boyd
10- Carney

you are the one who dont have a clue

carney played souths, tigers and broncos none of those sides are good in defense

when he is tested against good defensive teams he will struggle.

Yes, RL is in diabolical shape when the 10th best player can only fire against dodgey defence........

There is only one response to your rubber necked drivel, and MacDougal delivered it sweetly

You are a spastic.

The funniest thing is that you have dug in to defend it!

You speak like you're still in 2005....
He isn't actually that flashy anymore, he's settled down into a far more play making role and is more likely to create something for others rather than himself now.
